@ApocalypseShadow
Yeh I may just do that. I'm sure there's a rom out there.
I'm a big Kojima fan but I somehow completely missed out on Snatcher.
To me at least, it honestly looks significantly better (graphically) than anything I've seen up to this point. That's assuming we aren't being bullshot but even the earlier UE4 videos of this looked really good. At least I think they were UE4.
Yeh that immediately made me think of Assassin's Creed being made by about 15 different studios. Something gets lost in it.
Thanks for the info. I think I will pick it up then.
I really liked the original base game but never did touch the MP. How was it?
Did anyone here like the game? I was looking forward to trying it right up until it came out and most critic AND user reviews kind of trashed it.
Does anyone know if it will have the map maker? Aka the forge.
Yeh I remember skydiving down onto the beach at night. That and running around holding asian dudes as human shields until they got shot up or I threw or punched them. That's about all I remember. I think I was underwhelmed by the series as a whole tbh.
But yeh I was apparently making my point about Crysis 2 because of the nano catalysts that disappeared, hampering ranged stealth options.
Ah yeh ok. Honestly they're all kind of a blur. I don't even remember if there was a 3rd one... Now that you have cleared that up for me I know it's part 2 that I didn't like, but I don't remember loving the first one either even though I had a high end pc at the time, of course no one could run it as well as it should have been.
I had to look it up but their called "nano catalyst" and they were for suit upgrades/unlocking suit modules.
But if you wanted these very important things you had to run in and grab them because they disappeared quickly.
I'll get some disagrees for this but I didn't like Crisis. Most of the powers were underwhelming for one thing. And if you wanted to play it stealthily with a long-range silencer you were just about guaranteed to not get the upgrade orbs since they disappeared so quickly.
It basically forced you to play the way they wanted you to play.
Yeh I would LOVE a remake of this again. At least I think there was a remake a long time ago right? It's easily one of my GOAT top 5. Some of the best 4th wall moments of any game ever.
Edit: Answering my own question. The remake was Twin Snakes.
I really didn't think I was going to like Hades but after doing a couple of runs it just clicked and I was suddenly hooked. There are some fantastic synergies between the weapons and the God boons that just make the gameplay really fun and make every run feel very different. Unlocking new versions of the weapons, permanent character upgrades and unfolding more of the (actually really good) story made it even more addictive.
This is coming from someone who didn't lik...
I've tried plenty of roguelikes and roguelites. The only ones that have really and truly kept my attention were Dead Cells and Hades.
Related but unrelated question.
How is it that the unity engine can sometimes lead to fantastic looking games but other times absolutely awful? Is it difficult to master or is cheaper to get a license therefore less talented 3d artists working for budget studios tend to end up being the ones using it?
I'm starting to wonder if this will ever get a happy surprise vr version. That's the whole reason I haven't touched the game.
Yeh I loved it. The only other roguelite I had really got sucked into as much as Hades was Dead Cells. I've tried a half dozen others since then but none of them have gotten me hooked like those 2.
Ok thanks all for the info and sales pitch. I'm going to get it after hearing this. And it's also nice to hear it has DLSS. One of the best advancements to come along in quite a while.
But.. but.. he's an "icon".
I feel some barf coming up.
