1-800-Magic is already kicking ass, plus they've already done PANICs and The Strangerhood. I'm sure they'll wind up doing tons of cool stuff for Halo 3 (PSAs and the like) but they've got a lot going for them.
Let's all at least agree on one thing:
If there's no Killzone gameplay, the rest of Sony's show doesn't matter.
It's long past time to put up or shut up- and I hope they're going to put up this time.
Yup. One of the most popular and respected titles in gaming in the world is coming to Arcade, and it gets one single boo.
That says a lot.
Personally, I can't wait. Catan kicked ass, this will too.
Yeah... I... ermmm...
Go milking a franchise for money?
Has any Crytek game ever outsold any Halo game?
Only "Xbot fanboys" ahoy.
As said above, God of War comes out on PSP, and it's no longer "exclusive"? People throw a freakin' hissy fit any time there's a 360/PC game, but they say zilch when it's PS2/PSP, or PS3/PS2. It's only no longer "exclusive" when it's across Microsoft's platforms. That's what people are mad about.
Also: Shadowrun isn't selling because it sucks. And it IS an experiment- it's the first test to see if Windows and 360 gamers really can play together.
Top 5 Worst Things about the Apple iPhone:
1) Douchebags like the guy in the video are exactly the people who are all hyped about about it.
2) It's $600 for a freakin' phone. Unless you work Wall Street and Blackberry-like devices are now a job requirement in your office, you don't need half of this stuff. Even then, you need a Blackberry, not this.
3) If you really need any more reasons than #1 and #2, you need to rethink your life.
"...you are the master of unlocking!"
-That was certainly the scariest moment of the game for me.
...scared for the English language, that is.
Bwahaha.
It's you!
Anyone remember the strings of retailers carrying signs that literally read "PS3 BluRay player ... also plays games" at launch? Yup.
By Christmas, we'll have (relatively, at lest) affordable combo players that will render this format war moot. Neither side is going to "win".
As said elsewhere- The 4th dimension is TIME, and we know this, because PS3 games raelly are in 4d. You know how every just keeps saying "give PS3 more time and you'll see how much more powerful it is than 360", or "give it more time and sales will pick up", or "just wait until 2008 when the big games hit"?
That's what happens when you develop in 4d!
Anti-gamer legistlation DOES create anti-social behavior.
I've never wanted to punch someone so hard as when (insert politician) said (fact-free oomment) about (insert game).
Seriously, though- the only thing adding motion control does for these games is increase the likelihood people will accidentally maul each other during a round of Mario Party.
Reality check- how much of your music and movies comes off the internet? From iTunes, to streaming YouTube, to Xbox Live and PSN, digital downloads are an industry-wide reality.
Yes, there is still a need physical media. And there probably always will be. But the majority of the industry will be download-oriented, maybe with discs or memory cards as backup.
Where did this 30% come from? They wrote " to an EB Games store manager, who wished to remain anonymous". That's one manager, in the entire nation, with no other fact-checking. Good reporting.
Also: "a lot of the problems seem to appear after 12 months of use." Is that at all consistent with anything that anybody else has described regarding this console? It's not even consistent with their own article- the EB quote says failures are lower now, while the art...
Microsoft:
-Games for Windows / Live Anywhere / Tattoos = Who really cares? The PC gaming industry has been in trouble for a while now, and Live Anywhere, while kind of cool (checking your gamerscore from your cell phone = nifty) isn't that massive. And the whole tattoo thing was always a bit silly.
-Alan Wake = The next Duke Nukem Forever, perhaps?
-Nintendo announcements = You might as well just put up a picture of a clown car. Give me Mario and Smash Bros now- ...
Sony PR timeline:
-First, Sony was supposed to rule the industry from launch because PS3 was so superior, and all its games would be clearly better.
-Then, PS3 just needed some time because Xbox 360 had been out first, so of course its games looked better.
-Then, PS3 only needed til the end of the year, or maybe into 2008, then it'll definately be much better.
-Now, PS3's problems were all in the manufacturing process and they're all gone right now, and PS3 is alre...
Posted elsewhere: Microsoft's settlement with Immersion also entitled Microsoft to a hefty number of shares in Immersion and "other" undisclosed concessions. For all we know, one of those concessions might have been royalties from a deal like this. If so, Immersion is legally bound to the contract they agreed to. And that's just one quick possibility.
Yeah- where the hell is Banjo Kazooie at least? Press usually jump all over it.
-Fox just penned a huge licensing deal with Microsoft. It might've included HD-DVD release. It might make the Halo movie a Marketplace exclusive. We don't know.
-Microsoft has always been neutral on the idea of launching a BluRay drive for 360. Heck, they might launch a combo drive.
-You'll be able to download it on Marketplace regardless.
-98% of the population in the US (as of last check) are still going to buy it on regular ol' DVD.
...there are so many ...
"Senior marketing execs at SCEE have said that it was decided to build a brand rather than inform consumers as to the technical benefits and value of the PS3 platform."
What.
The.
****.
???
You've got to do both.
1) The developers never announced a date. It's hard to push back a title that doesn't have an expected date.
2) This is one retailer. Whoopie.
3) This would be ONE delayed 360 game. OMGTHEWORLDHASENDED!!!
