Er, they are "recalling" the defective straps, and in echange for bothering, they'll give you a replacement.

Same as the PS2 and Xbox power cord issues.

At this point, I'm actually hoping the updates will stop. There's less reason every day for me to bother keeping my old box... bah, I'll keep it anyway. Too many memories of Halo LAN parties.

Still, seeing Psychonauts finally hit BC is a nice moment. More people need to play this game- regardless of your system fanboyness.

Er, XNA does require a membership fee. So technically you do have to pay. But $100 for a year compared to the $thousands it would normally take just to start a good dev library?

Relatively free, we'll say.
And as a programmer, I agree with that sentiment. You can't be a programmer and not see at least some good in this. And even if you were trying to hold out with some doubts, look up XNA Racer. One guy, two weeks, and a high-def game that even whole companies would be p...

"You will not, however, have access to the "non essential non-graphics" functions, so XBMC360 isn't going to happen, unfortunately."

What does that mean??? You can't... er... play DivX movies with XNA? Yes you can- because XNA allows you to make a game. If your game wants to use (video format X), it can. But that's all XNA is supposed to be for.

And from the PS3 Media Center's homepage:
"Multimedia Center Software for Playstation 3...

It might also give you a feeling you're looking at Project Gotham Racing 3, except there's more focus on the cars, balanced with the road/grass/etc being significantly worse. Not to mention PGR3 accurately modeled the interior of every car with just as many polygons as the outside, meaning it wouldn't be a terrible stretch to take those polygons out and add plenty of extra racers to the field, then give it over a year extra in development...

Point: Looks good. But not any bette...

If "Stinkles" was indeed a Bungie employee, it would have most likely been Frankie, who is the official person Bungie has to comment on issues such as these.

"So you pretty much admit your"
-It's "you're" in this case. As in you mean to say "you are" a child who can't spell.

"to Juevani your"
-Again, "you're" in this case. It's a contraction.

Saying "your" implies posession, as in "your intelligence is very limited" or "your spelling is weak, young Padawan".

Er, that was Sony. And so were:

"PS3 is a supercomputer."
"All launch games will ship in 1080p at 120fps."
"New features, like real-time weapon change."
"The PS3 is shipping in Spring '06."
"It's just a few weeks until our Spring '06 release, and we're already building stock in preparation for our launch."
"Flip the enemy crab onto its back and attack its weak point for massive damage.&quo...

Translations: Due to all the money that can be lynched from studios to get a game made (as opposed to actually going out and truly licensing it from them) means a low-risk investment with almost guaranteed profits, even if it's a terrible game that fails miserably.

See also: Every Aliens and/or Predator game ever made.
And also see: The new Sonic sucks pretty bad.

They don't necessarily have shields, but they do have armor, which likely indicates shields.

And yes, I suspect more of a "making of" featurette, to be included on the Legendary Edition.

In case no one remembers, Square/Enix support for 360 was announced last e3. That's why Final Fantasy 11 was released on the console.

And now- more games are to follow!? E'gad! What is this, a multi-game contract or something? (yes)

Good Lord.

This is like hearing when children get abducted because someone in a car offered candy. The police's first question: "Didn't you ever tell your kids..." Parents: "zOMG! We is nev0r thoted wuld happen 2 ar kid!"

If a stranger offers you a mysterious object in a black bag, and won't let you actually examine the contents, what do you do children?

That's right- you run to a crowded public location and contact an adult- pr...

Yeah, because 9,000 "here's my new rig" and "can my system handle..?" topics would be so much better.

AMD vs. Intel
Custom-built vs. From-scratch
KB/M vs. Controllers

Yeah, just download a tool to change the DivX files to a format the Wii plays and it's no problem!

Wow that's sad.
It's like the guy in the mall who makes his girlfriend play a random game just to humiliate her in public.

...or considering there are MILLIONS more 360s in owner's hands, could this simply mean that Xbox fans have already made the jump to the next gen while Sony fans still can't possibly obtain PS3s even if they desperately want to?

Whoops.

+ HD-DVD is selling FAR faster than BluRay (10x?).
+ HD-DVD has won almost unanimously, across the board, in side-by-side comparisons, delivering better audio and video than BluRay.
+ HD-DVD costs about half as much per player, and often less per disc.
+ The $200 Xbox 360 HD-DVD player can be connected to a PC to be used as an external player with simple driver downloads.

What'd someone say about supporting the superior format?

Translation for everyone, here's the original starting quote:
"Using Havok's technology means that we don't have to worry about..."

And here's what he meant to finish with:
"...delaying the game half a decade and releasing a half-baked version missing some of the most-hyped features."

Fable was good, but it should have been so much more. Here's to hoping for the best in Fable 2.

The "next-gen DVD war" is, in fact, already over.
Beta Max, MiniDisc, UMD, and now BluRay- among others.

Anyone seeing a pattern?

-HD-DVD has sold many times more than BluRay.
-BluRay consistently loses to HD-DVD in side-by-side critical comparisons in both audio and picture quality.
-BluRay players cost, on average, about 2x as much.
-Consumers feel overwhelmingly more positive about HD-DVD than about BluRay.
