Best of PS3 - an exclusive title wins
Best of 360 - a multiplatform title wins
There not much else to say except "that sucks". IMO, Forza 3 probably should have won Best 360. Hell, ANY exclusive would have been better than a multiplat title. It's a sad day when multiplats are winning "best of" for any specific console.
I don't think that this is the case at all. In Destructoid's case, they're just always trying to stir sh!t up. Read anything written by Jim Sterling and you'll see what I mean. I'm not sure as if I've ever read a Dtoid authors' honest opinion on anything. Everything that they write is dripping with sarcasm.
Destructoid, by nature, is a satirical publication. It's difficult to take them seriously.
Have you sent an e-mail to IGN regarding this incident? I realize that you do not wish to call out their reviewer publicly, but at least their editors ought to be made aware.
The sites that are represented on MC are hand-picked by its creator. Metacritic displays an aggregated average of review scores picked by a single person named Marc Doyle.
Imagine if you could pick and choose which reviewer's opinions count and which ones don't? Like choosing reviews only from www.ps3isthebest.com and www.ihatexbox360.com to represent the quality of a PS3/360 multiplatform title. It's an extreme example, but that's how Metacritic works.
Agreed. I won't be buying Ghostbusters for the PS3, just as I won't purchase an XBOX360. I spend too much money on my gaming habit for my hardware/software to be half-assed or defective. Games and consoles are expensive nowadays, and many of us need to be picky and choosy about where we invest our time and money.
A short list of probable differences between Final Fantasy XIII PS3 & XBOX360:
- PS3 -
Japanese voicework
Trophies
Fit on a single Blu-ray disc
- 360 -
Achievements
Fit on multiple DVD9s (3 or 4)
Did I miss anything?
It could be that you may have misinterpreted the "gimped" statement and twisted it to fit your hellish vendetta against PS3 gamers.
But you'd never do that right? You've always been a positive contributor to the N4G community. Oh wait...
I don't recall many people claiming that the 360 version would be gimped in comparison to the PS3 version (maybe the occasional fringe case nutjob). They should be nearly identical. I've heard that FF13 as a whole will be gimped for being multiplatform. And I'd tend to agree with the latter statement. Good try though Balrog.
YOU ARE THE ONES WHO ARE THE BALL LICKERS!
Thanks for the reply, Theonik. That clip is a tad melodramatic, but it does an excellent job of showcasing Valve's claims to support L4D1 post-release. In addition to the video clips, there are also transcripts from interviews with Gabe Newell floating around where he clearly states that the SDK, new maps, new weapons, new characters, and new special infected were in the works for L4D1.
I understand why L4D2boycott is miffed, and I share their sentiment. Valve promised post-la...
Customers were sold half of a finished product with the promise of the remaining updates in the future. These updates never occurred. People feel entitled because they were led to believe that content would be added in the future. This content was used as incentive to pull in potential buyers. When developers don't make good on their claims, then I can fully understand why a customer would feel cheated.
The problem isn't that gamers don't want Left4Dead 2. It's that they wan...
It's obviously a mock study for comedic effect.
"Are gamers retarded?" I honestly believe we'd get the same result. Articles like these only encourage fist-pounding from one side and garbled b!tching from the other.
I can't speak for others in the L4D2 boycott, but I joined for what I feel are very sound reasons. I purchased L4D1 with the assumption that Valve would be releasing new characters, new maps, new weapons and as free updates to L4D1 (as we were...
Dark, I really don't see why you even bother with these tw@ts. You're wasting time that could be better spent playing good games or shagging beautiful women.
You may be on to something? But then again, what self respecting human being gives a sh!t?
I don't know. I'm not exactly sure on how to answer your question on a technical level. I guess that I WOULD expect the lead platform to be the superior version of a title. However, I'm at a bit of a loss, because you seem more interested in being a c0ck rather than having a thoughtful conversation (only judging by your use of "power" in quotations and glancing over your comment history where in most cases you come off as a complete and utter retard). What I can say, with certai...
I'm not really keen on which version is superior/inferior, and really I don't even care. What I care about is...
Is the GAME any good?
Crab, I think you may have misunderstood the quote. The devs stated that they had to narrow the scope of Ghostbusters to accommodate a multi-platform release. They claimed that had the game been PS3 exclusive that it would have been a better, more ambitious, game for it, and I'd tend to agree with them.
PS3 exclusives are generally of greater quality than multiplats. It's not something to get up in arms over.
Hey, thanks buddy. I was on the QA team for Gears of War PC, and usually all I hear is hate toward the PC version.
If you purchased a game where the developers promise future updates but that promised content is never released, then by all means, you have every right to feel cheated, every right to complain, and every right to boycott that developer's products.
Many of those 30,000 individuals involved in the L4D2 boycott are there for well-grounded reasons. It's obvious that you haven't read their manifesto. Maybe you should check out their steam group? They are hardly a group of unapprec...
