The point is PS5 will use SSD's that you can buy off the shelf which means competition between SSD manufactures will keep the price down. You'll be able to pick and choose from a variety of different brands unlike a proprietary device which you have to pay what ever Microsoft wants to charge and history has shown that in the case of Microsoft that doesn't favor consumers.

Are they going to do like they did with cortana where in early windows builds you could just disable it by renaming the file then they made it so renaming cortana disabled the whole start menu and made windows unusable... Not only is it slow it's proprietary. It's going to be like the 360 again where they had a laptop HDD that you could buy for $35 inside a plastic housing that they were selling for $125.
Being able to load textures in real time is huge. This is why so many developers have said that the SSD is the biggest change to development this gen.
Xbox might have slightly better graphics with it's 16% faster GPU but PlayStation will be able to support games that xbox can't run with 100% more SSD speed.
I'd just like to point out that Phils whole M.O. has been to go on a press tour every time Sony has done anything all gen. Sony releases a big game Phil tweets and does interviews all with the purpose of flooding the news sites and pushing down review/information about Sony,
Sony does not do the same thing in any way.
This is exactly why people don't like Microsoft it's because instead of just trying to boost their own product they always try...
Obscure_Observer, say what you will, the fact is that a tech demo not even made by Sony stole Microsoft's thunder and over shadowed their whole event, just like the controller and the logo before that.
Just wait to see what happens when they show the actual console and then start showing games.

17% isn't the difference between RT and no RT, nor is it the difference between 1440p and 4k. And both is right out.
There is no such thing as a "ray tracing chip" it's a function of the GPU itself and it can also be performed at the software level.
Funny I missed the UE5 demo on the sx that had higher resolution and had RT, perhaps it doesn't actually exist?
Sony dedicated engines are still way better. Just look at HZD and GoW and TLoU2
I'll say that anyways... PlayStation had the best looking games, nothing on the X matched them.
Resolution is not equivalent to detail and artistry.
