Perhaps what everyone is overlooking is what happens if a lot of people who would have bought a new console to play the new Halo game ect. just decide to stick or move to PC or just keep the old console they already have?
You don't seem to understand the issue. No one is saying Micrsoft is going to sell zero consoles because they offer all thier games on PC. But the fact is that by offering games on PC they are reducing the need for the console. They won't lose 100% of sales obviously, but there is a good chance they could easily lose 20% of the console purchasing audience by putting thier games on PC.
Then you add in allowing people to stick to their old console and it paints a ve...
Hopefully PS5 players can turn off crossplay with sx players
I think that's the point of the article and the discussion.
Why is Microsoft making a super expensive console which no one has to buy to play the new games?
Ya know what the sad thing here is. People write off the SSD because their console of choice has a slower SSD even going so far as to call devs liars to try to downplay the tech.
How about at the start of the PS4/Xbone generation where game development switched from 95% of games being made for 32 bit OS with a 4gb (3gb usable) RAM limit to 64-buit which 95% of games are now made in and take advantage of the ability to use nearly unlimited amounts of RAM. The switch to 64b...
but for some strange reason MS came out of nowhere are snatch it from them
Yea, that strange reason is called windows money.
Gamepass is so successful because Microsoft was able to subsidize it by paying millions of dollars to get big budget games while giving the service away for $1.
Microsoft has an unfair advantage they can just take losses that would put any other company out of business.
Uh, sure whatever you say.
I love how you haven't refuted anything I have said.

I can afford more than one console and a nice PC. But the $500 I would spend on an xbox would buy a ton of games for other devices and I simply don't want it.
And simply not wanting to buy an xbox should be enough for anyone, no one should feel required to buy anything PlayStation, Nintendo or xbox.

Yes options to not buy the console to play their games, unlike any other console.
And unlike other consoles if you don't buy it you don't play the games, go play some Switch games on you're PC.
Listen, I have to block people because a certain person who thought he was too >cool< wouldn't stop harassing me after he couldn't comment on an article anymore.
It's factually not like any other console.
Name one console that launched with all it's games on PC and all it's "next gen" games available on the previous console.
Thanks, it was good for me.
I also enjoyed playing Warriors All Stars and Nights of Azure and Romance of the Three Kingdoms, all of them were new to me. And when I get some free time I am going to play The Evil Within 2.
All games I was interested in but never got the chance to play.
Not like other consoles...Microsoft is making all their games cross gen and putting them all on PC.
What does newness have to do with anything? I played Control on PSNow last month and I am 100% certain I enjoyed it just as much last month as I would have day 1.
I'll take the variety in both numbers and genres PSNow offers over any other service hand down. Any game I haven't played is new to me.
And the service is only $5 a month an amazing price for what you get.
Lawbreakers isn't on xbox so why say that they are the ones who like it when it was on ps and some of that fanbase did play it, so what does that say about them
I think it says PlayStation fans don't like shitty arena shooters.
The game didn't even sell 100k copies on PS4, and let's not forget it bombed just as hard if not harder on PC. Battleborn which also failed sold 60% more copies in it's first month than LawBreakers. LawBreaker...

If the PS5 can read textures directly from the SSD than that's only more of an advantage that the PS5 has over the SX being more than twice as fast as the SSD in SX.
All that plus the fact that the SSD expansion isn't proprietary like the SX.
Seems like Sony made some great decisions with the PS5.
You said this.
but the “GPU Driver” also known as the GPU
Then you agreed with me the GPU is the hardware and the driver is the software, thus confirming your original statement was wrong.
How humble of you to admit you're wrong.
What have they actually shown? Everything Microsoft has shown so far has been on PC at least Epic's demo was on a PS5 dev kit.
I think it'll do worse because they are putting their games on PC and not moving to an actual next gen allowing people to just keep their current consoles to play the "next gen games".
Their decisions put them in a position where they are competing with themselves for next gen console sales.
