....old school gamers looking for a nostalgic feel is exactly what the market bears? Catering to an untapped market share is a tactic, but not a cheap one.

This is the same kind of criticism the Wii recieves, but we all know how well it's doing.

I'll be buying this, as I still play the NES regularly, and even picked up the Mega Man 1-8 game for the gamecube awhile back.

Do we see a lot of reviews where "pressing (x) button" a lot gets old fast?

It's basically a button masher, where mashing buttons has been replaced by wand waggling.

The reviewers of today need to adapt to the way games are played on the Wii, and leave personal opinion of how the control system works out of it. If the waggling is unresponsive, slow, or just doesn't work right, that's one thing, but not liking the control setup is entirely another.

I also refuse to pirate it. I just simply won't play it until it allows me as many damn installs as I want. (I re-format pretty often).

I don't like being treated like a criminal on things I purchase.

I picked up the blu-ray. If you are a DVD owner like me the blu-ray also comes with a $10 mail in rebate.

All you need is the UPC from both the DVD and the blu-ray along with the store reciept for the blu-ray.

It was quite impressive on the blu.

In one sense I'd like to see every game take full advantage of the hardware, but in a more practical sense I would really like to see equality across multi-plat releases.

The reasoning behind it is simple. The games you buy are games you want to play. There are few things as disappointing as hearing that a game you bought wasn't the best "version" of the same game.

I've passed on games in the past that had lazy developers (madden 08) that didn't create ...

People disagree with personal opinions all the time, especially if they've had a dissimilar experience.

I never use the disagree button, but I will agree without commenting.

I actually like this move to drop the price, but I wouldn't have stopped there, I'd have made it equal to the Wii price to guarantee some wishy washer consumer sales.

I deleted my save file and started fresh. I'm back up to 510/1000 and working on more.

I think I've played through it 4-5 times now, it's even more fun once you earn some initial points and can use different weapons early in the game. I'm shooting for 900/1000 so I can go through the entire game with the dragon sniper and headshots only.

that the games scores are inflated, but I will say that there are flaws with metacritic and how people here view AAA games.

Example 1: Ratchet and Clank TOD for PS3
70 review scores with an overall 89 score. Of those 70 review scores 65 were 80 and above, with the bottom score a full 10 points lower than the next lowest score. That score alone brought the game down under a 90 overall, thereby making it non AAA to the masses just looking at raw scores.

Trying to sell me a "new" game that they have opened and put in a little sleeve. New = shrink wrapped from the manufacturer, not opened up and in a sleeve just so they can have a display box.

put the display games in a security device or something FFS, don't open it up and pass it off as new.

These "core" gamers the article speaks about are getting older and wanting more mature games, something Nintendo has never done much of.

A better request would be to developers of more mature games to get out and make these games for the Wii as well as the 360 and PS3. More games like RE4 would be nice.

I disagree with a few of your premises.

First of all, Wii Sports and Wii Fit are two new IP's that take advantage of the Wii's capabilities, and a "new" style zelda or mario would be nearly impossible to pull off successfully so why not cater to what works with those IP's.

Any game historian knows that Nintendo doesn't make too many mature games of the 1st party nature. Their franchises are rock solid and will most likely continue to be that way.

Would you say Lair is better now since the patch or the same?

If it's better now, how did the motion controls ruin the whole game?

If it's the same, then it was a "ruined" game without motion controls.

So either you are exaggerating the impact of the controls on the game, or Lair is bad without them, either way, it makes you look silly with your comment.

So you would say you are the rule or the exception? I would say you are the exception, which is why I left the "chances are" qualifier in my statement.

Let me ask you this. Should we be able to toss any word in front of 'exclusive' to make it fit our target audience?

My point is very simple. Exclusive should be used to describe something that's limited to one group of owners in this context. If you can get a game on any other platform, the game should n...

I said the info was accurate based on that skewed premise, but you hit disagree anyways. ;)

I was looking at it from a prospective console buyer's position. Which console should I buy, well if i'm looking at this article, chances are I have a PC already.

The word "Exclusive" has a cut and dried definition.

6418d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

Is another way to say the statistics are biased.

Of the 360's 5 "console exclusive" games, only Forza and Halo 3 are actually 360 exclusive. Gears of War, Bioshock, and Mass Effect are all available in (arguably) better versions for the PC.

With that said, If going by pure metacritic scores, and leaving off the PC ports of "exclusive" games, yes the article is ringing as valid info.

It really shouldn't change anyone's mind though, si...

Where you can pick stuff up and one click salvage it to raw materials that can be sold back. I want just a few basic material types though, that the merchants will buy. Stackable types as well. Like robes salvage to cloth and thread, swords salvage to metal, etc.

I don't want 200 different metal types though, since that defeats the purpose of needing space to keep going.
