I disagree with this for a few reasons.

People did care for innovation, gimmicks, and "all that crap" but only when it was implemented correctly and put into widespread use.

Anytime you use the phrase "real gamer" to justify your beliefs you aren't thinking for gamers, you are thinking for yourself and a stereotype you fit or one you want others to fit.

Personally i'm a gamer that has been playing and collecting video games and ...

....150 million reasons why they made this choice. It's not like they can't pocket that money and re-release all those movies if and when blu-ray becomes the adopted format.

I can't say i'm not excited to play this game.

Hell, I even have the magazine only demo of "christmas Nights" for the Saturn. (I should break that out and snap a pic of the setup for memorys sake)

Is prolong DVD's reign on the market, which in and of itself could make paramount more money.

People who might be early adopters that aren't into games will wait until they can get all the movies they want on the chosen format.

Eventually one will win and the losing format supporters will rush to release their signature movies on the winning format.

It's a prolonged effect, detrimental to both getting the new format implemented.

....graphical generational gaps.

There is a graphical upgrade, but we were all aware of the Wii being a gamecube 2.0 before the Wii was released. There is a problem with the way you are looking at it from my persepctive.

If you own a Wii, you didn't buy it for HD, or for it to have massive graphical upgrades, you bought it for the 'other' generational gap it provides. Which it does nicely from my experience.

You have to grade the Wii based on the...

My wife and I really enjoyed it. It's subtitled, but there isn't really a lot of speaking parts and I really got into the story, which is well crafted fiction, with historical elements thrown in and a little voodoo that could be distracting if you don't care for that type of thing.

Most of it takes place in dense jungle, and there are parts you're eyes will bug out with how high quality the 1080p make it.

Casino Royale (huge bond fan)
300
Apocalypto

We've watched a ton of rentals also. I highly reccommend "Curse of the Golden Flower" It's subtitled, but visually spectacular.

The 5 free ones are in the works to head my way.

I too cannot see someone buying a PS3 without knowing about blu-ray. I believe it's happening, but it's mind-boggling.

This list is weighted too far to the current. There are a TON of games pre-32 bit that are ridiculous in difficulty, even today.

Douchebaggery needs to be added to Websters. IMO of course.

The games I always go back and re-play and the games that get a sheltered spot in my collection are the deep games.

A lot of good points here, but the most important point is that there would be far fewer complaints about the Wii if it had a plethora of high quality and deep titles.

5. RBI Baseball (NES)
4. Pebble Beach Golf Links (Sega Saturn)
3. Wii Sports (It's fun, what can I say)
2. NFL 2K (Dreamcast)
1. World Series Baseball 2K-2K3

An Eclectic mix, but fun for me!

Even if you read all the reviews on this game it's a hard one to judge without playing it.

I like what I see as far as the epic battles, artistic styles and music, and plot lines in the game, but at the same time I fear it will be one of those games the developers tried to do everything perfect and ended up with nothing perfect.

I am very interested in this title and will probably pick it up because the artwork and music score alone scream of high quality.

Now let's see them change the name to reflect clock speed as well.

Imagine going to the store and seeing a box with AMD dual core 2.8 Ghz AM2 socket processor on the box.

Amazon is an excellent source for the here and now (weekly trends), but a poor source for long term statistics or trends. It just fluctuates too much to be reliable in long term predictions.

10 million 360 owners can't be wrong, but there is a serious concern that's cropped up lately with regard to their growth trends long-term which can't be ignored.

Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing for PC..... I can say this list is lacking.

Seriously, look it up. It's a .1 on a 1 to 10 scale.

To anything around $400 and you'll see the massive Sony pendulum swing back into their favor.

I don't see it happening this year though. They have the games they feel will carry them into next year and a line-up next year that is very strong indeed to keep the sales pace consistent throughout next year and I think next holiday season you'll see a price drop for the fence-sitters.

Remember the PS2 is still selling well, Sony's fan base will be ready to move to ...

Economic boost indeed!

I certainly thought so too, having just purchased mine when the price dropped to $500.

My reasoning was as follows:
1. I was going to get one eventually anyways.
2. I like the hardware emulation for the PS1 and PS2 of which I have a ton of games for both so I wanted to act before they dropped that from the SKU.
3. I recently set up a 500 Gig NAS network harddrive for my MP3's and movies. PS3 closes the link to the TV nicely.
4. Finally a few gam...

It was probably an honest mistake by Best Buy, but be assured I'd try to get all of it for the pre-ordered price, had I put in a pre-order.

Corporations make mistakes, but they also gouge you every chance they get!
