The price point, and additional technology included would point to it catering to an older "more established" crowd that may or may not have kids.
Just because it has a wider gamut of game genres, some of which are for kids, doesn't mean it caters to a younger crowd.
Honestly, with the way Microsoft markets the 360, it seems to me that they cater to a "younger minded" crowd at least. Achievements, gamerscore, "mature" game content focus...
I'm complex enough to fit both the casual and hardcore model everyone is always talking about.
I would imagine a lot of people are as well.

Is what this would fall under. It's a bad precedent to set, and I'm not a fan of any sin taxes, even the ones I don't partake in.
But then again, I'm not a fan of very many taxes at all.

As per the article he asked "who even remembers 30 great games they played for the Saturn".
Hence 30 games I remember playing for the Saturn. I personally own ~50 Saturn games. I believe there were almost 500 Saturn games made. Some of which were crap, some of which were obviously good. My list is in no particular order except how they popped into my memory.

Except my avatar is my kids and I, my wife and I just had our 10th anniversary celebration, and I won't brag about the mortgage, but it is there to haunt me.
This person needs less teen angst.

It's the excuse.
This dumbass is just a horrible person and worse parent.
Sad story indeed.
Keeping the PS3 off limits unless I'm around. My kids are 9 and 4, and given enough time will find a way to destroy anything they have access to. So they don't get to play games unless I'm home from work.
Kids will be kids, and if you are a parent, you know the obstacles you face with trying to censor your kids from certain things. It's impossible to have a say in everything they experience. The best thing to do is make your kids comfortable enough with approaching you with...
In other news.... You may get injured throwing a football around in the back yard, no matter how good of shape you're in.

I had a blast with the demo, the game should provide me with quite a few hours of entertainment for sure.
EA usually makes me sad, but this one is fun.

Pretty much what I was going to say, +bubbles to you.

Let me see if I understand you here.
The gaming world has no place for salvaging of old franchises to cater to fans and casual players?
Mario party's 10th iteration is bad because it sold more copies than your favorite high production cost game(s)?
FIFA 08 is a casual game because the PS3 version outsold the 360 version? (nevermind the fact that the 360 is popular in the U.S. where soccer is not, and the rest of the world eats, drinks, and bre...
Honestly, if you are insulted by a game system it's probably time to retire as a gamer or at least re-evaluate why you are a gamer in the first place. I've never been insulted by movies, books, or music either, maybe I'm the weird one who doesn't take these things so seriously.
I play games to have fun, all game systems have that capacity. The Wii caters very well to a very large audience for a very good reason, with or without you being happy about it.
Then ...
Now that I've watched the video (multiple times) I'm still not sure which games they are promoting...
Heh, just kidding. Good news article though, well worth the "read".

Yes, I have nothing else to contribute to this.

I believe it's worth yours too. I've played through on easy, normal, and hard. Currently working on expert, and for me to say I've played through an adventure game 3 times and still want more is truly something.
My wife enjoys watching it so much that last week she suggested I play that and she watch rather than our usual movie night.

...total sales for a given game across all released platforms.
It's easy to see how Need For Speed can be #1 considering it's out on 7 platforms at the same time. Kholinar has it correct so I'll stop there. :)

They can all be the same if you stick around for stuff like that.
My goodness, no way you'll catch me sticking around, even to listen. I've got better things to do.
