I was hyped when the beta codes were getting handed out, but since I didn't get picked and there's no "good" way to get in (like friend invites) then I had the feeling Sony could have done so much better. All I've heard from it is that the Beta hardly shows anything, you're very limited as to what you can buy, where you can go, and people on it has no interest in talking to you. You are forced to interact with people ONLY from your own country, which disappoints me because ...
Didn't get in. I actually work and don't have a heck of a lot of time to play as much as I'd like, but I'd find time for Home.

Totally agree with all of that. I am getting both but I can assure myself I will enjoy R2 more.
I still need to get my hands on this before I can really judge it. It's just too hard without trying everything for yourself and just watching other people do it on videos. I must say, there's some great features added in, but it looks like MS is trying too hard with this new "XBE". I don't think Sony would totally change the PS3's XMB OS or Nintendo with whatever they call Wii's OS.

And I really hope the DLC is good, it's the only reason I got both versions on launch (that and for achievements). I really think the PS3 is a much better looking game and I really get annoyed when I play it on 360 but the DLC could make forget all about it.
I really don't know what I want out of the DLC, I just want to it be worth buying when so many great games are coming out later in the year.
Will never be stopped. As long as there's internet, there's mass appeal for more and more people to jump in and give it a try. Sure, I download music and "other" things, I'm sure we all do. But games is something I will NEVER touch. I remember leading up to GTA IV's release a lot of people downloaded the game and I was so mad at them doing it. Not only did they no longer have to wait, but stealing from a video games developer is just sad when it takes them so long and so much money ...
Come out already, as I hate the hype leading up to them only for everyone to be disappointed. I remember not being able to sleep when the PS3 2.40 update was on the brink of release and I stayed up to get it (like 3AM US time) and I was like "Oh...This is it? These features should have been in from the start :\" so I was underwhelmed. Good update it was, but it was needed a LONG time ago, like on launch.

Yes you can use the 360 controller for this game on PC. I read preview of this and the people who did it got to use a 360 controller.
So you play racing games with the d-pad? I don't know about you, but I'll use the stick any chance I get. And I think the 360's triggers for gas/brake are also more suited for racing games than PS3s L2/R2.
But if you steer with d-pad and are good at it, then props to you!
20 here. I don't expect any nudity or secret avatar sex rooms but the gambling might be fun, and of course unedited trailers for M-rated games. :)
America will have digital TV as standard in Feb 2009 so that's probably around the time the US will see PlayTV.
Well for those who didn't get in anyway. I for one hope this is true as friends spreading it around may be the only way I or many of us are getting in.
My original HP2 that I bought when first released. That was a real NFS game. Sure Underground was alight and Most Wanted was good, but nothing tops Hot Pursuit 2 in my eyes.
All I did was download the theme (which by the way was a big lie and I'm pretty sure chances getting in with that are slim to none). The Trial website was the way to go but it closed before I ever knew about it :(

Well I played Gears of War when it was new, and when I got my PS3 a year later I played Resistance. I enjoyed Resistance a heck of a lot more but I will get both Resistance 2 and GeOW2 when they are released.
Resistance 2 beta alone is worth $2.99
It is still better looking than any game on 360 at this point in time. And I don't even expect Gears 2 to look better than MGS4 but I'll just have to see when I pick up my copy.
40" Sony Bravia 1080p LCD here. So I'm pretty sure I'll get the most out of each game's graphics.
