you remember the DKC 2 level or not, but a couple hard ones were Animal Antics (last one in the Lost world) or Toxic Tower, what was even harder was trying to get some of the secrets etc...
I think a lot of games these days focus more on telling a story, how are they going to do that with someone spending 4 months mastering a level and forgetting about the whole plot meanwhile? They also may just put it down and say it's not worth it, then the story never gets told either. Game...
Starfox 64 was challenging, but not unbeatable like some NES games....I played through it a few different times just to take different planets and see different routes, but I always ended up beating it. I dunno....
I have to state, I think the reason these 2D games were so difficult was because of timing and memorization, it was about lightning quick reactions and memorizing entire levels WITHOUT checkpoints or saves. And when you died too much, you start all ******* over!!!! U...
I got very far, but one of the later "ski-doo" levels (I think it was one in the picture, maybe not) that was mega quick pissed my 10 year old ego off too much to keep trying, haven't touched it since, but I still have fond memories of it.
I have to say, some games that are buggy now can be considered "hard", I quit trying to beat the last level in the campaign for Battlefield 2 on xbox 1, it was so glitchy my rockets were going through tanks, etc...I gave u...
I think you mixed up "component" and "composite", Microsoft's own site says it has standard AV cables with an Arcade (and Pro), which is what I thought too. That's what the PS3 comes with as well, it's not extra. HDMI comes in the Elite. I've never seen a system with "component cables", not nearly enough tv's have them.
One reason I choose PS3... because for many people (some above seem to forget this), the placement or location of your PS3/TV is N...
people can dislike the game, that's all fine and dandy, but if you read the article and look into what others are angry about, it's not "legimate reviews" that are being spoken of. The owner of Metacritic KNOWS they're fanboy scores, and said so. I respect a bad review if it brings up points to justify a low score, Jeff Haynes did a decent job when he gave Haze a very low score on why he disliked it. It's obvious the same is going on for Gears 2, which I firmly believe will be a gre...
Crab; now, you go find us this legimate review you spoke of.
it wouldn't be if fanboys would get a hobby (apparently gaming isn't one of theirs).
it's about muting the fanboys, like apparently you, because nothing of merit exits their brains. If people spend money on a console, and don't regret it, love it, have fun...then how are they wrong? Get over it. You bash away on the console you obviously didn't choose, give us all one good legitmate, logical reason fanboyism makes sense. We'll wait.
I disagree with the Gears 2 hating in the user reviews just as much. Where will it end? Killzone 2? God of War 3? Gears of War 3? ...
a number in private, but they FAILED to legitimize their 8/10, despite that that's a "good game" in many respects, their review is trash. There is so much fallacy in the words, that the number they may or may not have provided "behind the scenes" is meaningless. I see little logic in the review, when they claim nobody will make levels because it's too time consuming and difficult (yet complain there's too much tutorial at hand at the same time?), yet they gave Fable 2 a 98...
I understand your post, but I explained my own support....(??), the people who simply hit the disagree button and move on are like inept lawyers in a court who shout "I OBJECT YOUR HONOR!!!" and then the judge never gets a reason why, see how dumb that is?
problem with the Art Institutes method of handling an issue with a single professor, but I have a different degree than you, and I also probably went to a different school. I have great things to say about it, and a few horrible things to say. But I'll say this: I DO have access to better tools than LBP, I'm not getting that game to work on industry material or anything. I'm getting it to have fun with on the side, if I use 3DS Max or Maya, it'd be a good bit more difficult to make a platform...
very simple fact that there isn't a single number or value-based score dispensed for the LBP review on Variety, AND if you read the review of LBP on Variety, they state--
"most players initially attracted by the fantastical adventures of SackBoy won't likely have the time or passion to create them.
They'll instead be reliant on the community, in which players can browse, download and rate others' creations. Based on the levels made during the game's beta tes...

you're pouring gasoline on the ground and waiting for the fanboys with torches to come along.
because I know exactly what you're saying. Fanboys will be fanboys, I also like how 4 disagrees landed on your post and not a single logical argument to be made. That has fanboy written all over it. The Wii can do better than 90% of the games released for it graphically, even though it may not be up next to Killzone 2 or Gears 2, it is rarely pushed. I went to a Schaumburg, IL art institute where a couple early members of High Voltage went too, never met them, but they knew their stuff. I hop...
I noticed that, and the simpleminded goal of this article, to bash on a console. Why? What does someone get out of this? The consoles have strengths and weaknesses, I may have a PS3 but I'd love to have all 3 consoles. Nintendo KNOWS how to make a graphically powerful system, SNES, N64, Gamecube, they rivaled the competition graphically fairly well...it wasn't until Wii that they actually had power take a backseat to reinvention...I prefer my PS3 because of it's lineup and I love it, but I se...
but for every time a platformer was played and you liked this or that type of level, for all the classic gaming from mario to megaman to contra to donkey kong country, the 2D platforming was how many of us grew up, and back then, that WAS hardcore gaming for the mostpart. The fact that I can now make a level in the format I grew up on, and the fact that I have a BFA in media arts & animation from an Art Institute means I've got a ton of background in this, and a lot of potential fun to be...
Why is this a nationality issue? Where the hell are you getting your assumptions there?
Personally, I would love to play this game, been a Remedy fan simply from Max Payne.
of an "accent", he doesn't have one, it's a poor ability to pronounce and use the English language. It's also not a race thing, plenty of whites try to talk like that, or DO talk like that, and it comes off as being ignorant, it's got nothing to do with race. I understood nearly all of what he was trying to say, but it's pathetic. People like him are what cause the apparent cultural devolvement of the English language, and he makes himself look stupid, no matter what his real IQ mig...
as most side scrollers, the "sack people". The reason *I* think it's great is the ability to create levels, characters, vehicles, enemies, or even simulations, and the fact it's a first for a sidescroller to come with it packed in to this degree. I don't think it'll be "from a kid in Iraq", from what I've seen the outlook is very positive for level creations on the horizon, there's already a good bunch of them from the beta that show some are really nicely done. Many gamer...
