this game looks really really bad.
cool
maybe but if it significantly changes the shape of the controller... lame
I think Rockstar's RAGE engine should get a look. These were all FPS games. GTAIV is technically brilliant.
This is just a fluffy opinion peice with no credit whatsoever.
After manufacturing the most successful console in the world in the PS2, and with the sales success of the PSP over its lifetime, not to mention the success of the original Playstation, common sense would dictate the company wouldn't abandon hardware because it lags behind its competitors in this cycle.
The PS3's install base is still somewhere around the 22-23 million mark, and independent market analyst...
I agree about the physics, I think that's a hugely underrated aspect of gameplay. GTAIV and KZ2 have the best physics around I think.
I agree with the above list, though I never played RE5 or Gears 2, so I'll take people's word for it. But here's a list of games I think are graphically underrated:
5. GT 5: Prologue
4. Dead Space
3. Assassin's Creed
2. GTAIV
1. FarCry 2
We heard the same 'revolutionary' statements about the Wii. Its a similar concept, your just not holding something in your hand anymore.
For people into core games, the Natal won't be good news. Casual crap, and the games that do implement it that Microsoft say are 'core' all say they're going to use a controller anyway. All that means is welcome to waggle town.
I've got no doubt it will sell well and be marketed well, but won't be used in any way to appease gamers. ...
I can't believe this late into the hardware cycle lazy ass devs still can't make multiplat titles on equal footing.
We know that its possible, we've seen it. So why the feck can't these idiots do it?
Me too. I'd get one if it weren't so damned expensive. I dig all the features, it'd be a great device, but its essentially no better than my PSP-1000 except for its size.
You can get a PS2 and about 15 great games on it for that much. Not portable but way better value.
This thing would be successful if it weren't so expensive.
this will suck.
trying to make a game into a movie always sucks because they change the story too much and cheapen the whole thing.
that's the fakest, cheapest looking movie poster i've ever seen.
Tokyo is way too big and 'packed in' there's no way they could do it justice, seeing especially in GTAIV they made every building unique and different. For Tokyo that'd be, I'm assuming, too hard.
GTAIV was the best in the series. All that stuff everyone complains about as missing from San An, I personally only used them once or twice through the game.
The only thing missing was planes and skydiving. Other than that GTAIV was pure gaming awesomeness.
America has been done to death in GTA now. I think a change of continent would re-invigorate the series, that said, the game is as much a synical social commentary on American/Western lifetsyle as it is a sandbox action game, so maybe they're stuck in there.
I think Paris would be a cool place to set it. Beautiful city with a really seedy underbelly, Russian/Chinese/African/Middle Eastern gangters. Lots of prostitution and drugs, great nightclubs, and all the other ingredients o...
once you find a good pony you don't get off.
Who cares anymore. It's a game, get over it.
Prove to us all how much you love forza and buy it when it comes out. I don't care.
so there's a NEW definitive racing game of this generation.
this is all marketing and hype from EA and turn 10.
I don't think the average consumer cares. This thing is basically a relaunch of the PSP to get more users in and maybe steal some DS market share with its 'sexier' features.
It's like the DSi, and iPhone 3GS. They're not really upgrades that are worth the cost, but they pull in new consumers with a simple redesign.
Another great game destined to be a bad film. The Dead Space universe has the the elements present to be a great film, but I guarantee it will suck.
I bet whoever makes it will miss the point and feeling of the game completely, and we'll get another Doom movie full of cheap one liners with more special effects than plot, that drowns in a cheap script and poor acting.
