And why for god's sake is DOOM in quotes?? Is this some sort of ironic doom?

I'm trying to... but I'm also resisting the urge to preorder.

Why do I see this failing miserably.

Anonymous is quickly losing face that they can make much of an impact at all.

Do you know how hard you would have to try to build a computer that costs $3000? Even if you reached $2000, you're taking on all sorts of aesthetically pleasing things to get it that high.

You can easily build a powerhouse computer for $1000, and you can make a perfectly strong system for well under that. How do I know? I played the original Crysis when it first came out on a rig that cost less than $1000 at the time. If you actually had played it, you would know how ridi...

While it's a great story and one of my favorite franchises right now, Mass Effect is an RPG, not an FPS. Apples and Oranges.

And if we're going inter-genre, Mass Effect's storytelling is definitely rivaled by countless adventure games.

BFBC2 and COD are both really fun games, but as a whole package, BFBC2 is undoubtedly the better shooter.

Battlefield 3 is the most excited I've been for a war shooter in... ever?

This was the first time I've watched an Angry Joe Show. It was actually pretty entertaining, and game-smart. Good stuff.

The storytelling and originality of COD has gone downhill surely, but it is easy to forget that it is a polished game. Things work the way they're supposed to and the game mechanics are apparently still infectious, as evidenced by the ridiculous sales numbers. More importantly, the gameplay hours continue to rack up.

Faulting COD is the cool thing to do these days, as it's gotten rather Madden-esque. But playing a game like Homefront... all it really did was remind us...

Perhaps they did indeed bite off more than they could chew. I guess we'll know over the next week or so, by either their action or their silence.

People that said that Crysis 1 couldn't run on consoles weren't saying "You can't design that level on the PS3." They were saying that consoles couldn't handle the textures, resolution, lighting, etc. that the PC employed to run Crysis.

The only thing this video proves is that PS3 homebrew is really cool.

Probably not, since the PS3 was released years ago and is not a particularly hot-button issue at the moment regarding complaints of disorientation and headaches.

I'm assuming that was your point, though. Right? :D

I'd march back to your source and tell them that you got duped.

I happen to be one of those people who can't look at those hidden shape posters. I can't get my eyes to cross in the right way.

If you jump into a 3DS with the slider all the way up before getting the hang of the viewing angle or anything, yeah you're probably gonna go cross-eyed. Turn the 3D slider down, get used to the viewing angle, and you'll be free of discomfort, no cros...

@Pillville

Another "FPS with RPG elements" was Bioshock. It had a single player campaign of around 15 hours. It was lauded as having a particularly lengthy single player campaign as well for the genre.

And Rage is now considered short because...?

5409d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

The length doesn't identify it as a "plain" shooter. Is Bioshock a plain shooter? That's of similar length, and people credit it for being a lengthy FPS. Why all of a sudden is this different?

5409d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

WTF, Homefront had a 4 hour campaign. COD has less than 6 hours. Even Bioshock, which is credited as having a long campaign for a single player FPS, is roughly 15 hours. So Bioshock is long but Rage being a similar length is not? This article is troll bait.

Yes, true, impossible to argue with the free point. It's an option that wasn't there before, that's for sure.

Got run over by humvees that were completely silent. That was weird.

Absolutely no configurations can be viewed or altered in-game; you have to actually disconnect from the server first (this includes even viewing the friends list).

Resolution settings only affect full-screen gameplay; the windowed version never changes.

Mouse wheel isn't working to switch weapons. Friends list can only be managed through the website.

I play on PSN and Xbox Live. One of them's free, the other has cross-game chat. Those are basically the only differences.

5410d ago 5 agree0 disagreeView comment

You're the only one mentioning Sony, here. Like things would be different if Anon took down Xbox Live? Pretty sure a lot of people would be pissed about that, too.

If GeoHot was really "running away," he wouldn't have done it publicly and actually stated on his blog exactly where he was. He's got his lawyers and is fighting a legal battle, didn't "run" anywhere.
