You could make the argument that the original Xbox introduced Xbox LIVE and had built-in LAN support. Those were pretty big deals.
But I would still argue that the PS2 has been the much more influential console, especially since, as you mentioned, it's still being sold new today.
Except that "Beyond3D user" provided a direct source that could be validated by anyone reading it. If you want to still claim it to be untrue, then ok.
The article is specifically about the notion that the Sony servers were running outdated software. Yes, a lowly "Beyond3D" decided to use a universally-verifiable source to debunk it.
Is this complicated?
Neither the Playstation 1 or 2 is on this.
I can see leaving the PS1 off, but this list completely fails without the PS2.
And I'm sorry TurboGrafx-16 was great and all, but it was not one of the top 10 consoles ever. And LOL at Virtual Boy.
Oh look, another N4G user who's too high-brow to read a humorous take on the situation.
Not bad, entertaining spin on the whole thing.
Did anyone catch the second comment on the article? Here's an excerpt: "i got 14 platnum trofiz, but aint touched ma ps3 for a WHOLE 2 YERZ!! <;OO"
:o
You either didn't read the article, or the entire point of the article flew straight over your head.
As has been alluded to here, this is a huge drawback of the N4G model. The first one to post gets approved, and the more patient, better-written, more accurate articles get reported as duplicates.
You could say that eventually the false and sloppy reports are debunked, but by that time, they've already hit several hundred degrees, and the word has spread like wildfire.
And in this case, it will unfortunately take some time for the truth to filter back thr...
Amnesia still wins in this category
The only similarities I see are aesthetic.
Rage looks awesome, but I wouldn't expect it to have the same kind of RPG depth as Borderlands.
Ultimately, everything you give your personal info to has disclaimers abound that explicitly do NOT guarantee protection.
Sony isn't saying "We'll protect your data for one year," they're giving a free subscription to a 3rd-party universal identity protection service that is not exclusive to PSN.
The reason that the PSN is still down right now is so that they can ensure that your info with them is safe going forward. It's not down fo...
I had the exact same thing happen. Was a member at rudder.com and they had some sort of hack. I ended up unscathed, but they offered their entire userbase free identity protection as a result.
It's probably the best move that anyone could make in this situation.
Bioshock isn't completely horror game, but it's creepier than Dead Space, which stops being creepy after about an hour.
Silent Hill and Fatal Frame deserve to be on here, yes. But as far as I'm concerned, so long as Amnesia is at #1, it's ok with me.
They also said PSN was only undergoing maintenance, then they said it would be down for a few days...
Now they said would be up this week, but they're running out of time there, too.
Very smart PR move there
Problem isn't solved as long as there are PC games only being offered on GFWL.
Luckily, they're few and far between these days simply because of how many people feel the same way as the article author does.
It's a valid complaint, though. It's not as if it helps to prevent copy protection as they're two completely different platforms. It's just an inconvenience.
And flamebait usually suggests controversy. Does anyone actually disagree with this article?
Interesting that they make you segregate your MS accounts, while the recent PS3/Steam cooperation actually merges two.
It happens! You still beat me by 3 minutes darn you :D
This is not the same video as the headline states.
EDIT: I see this has been corrected
You have Saturn at #3 and the only Nintendo console you posted is one of the weakest that they ever released. Your list is no better than the article's.
