The quote is "the best cinematics of any games out there." Wherever they come from. That's the quote.
And Square Enix games have better cinematics than Epic games.
<ahem> Square Enix
Gears is one of the best 3rd person shooters ever, but it's not exactly a cinematic masterpiece.
Square-Enix has the best cinematics, IMO. Metal Gear Solid is up there and so is Uncharted. But Gears?
Molyneux... most of your titles are extremely overrated, since way back with Black & White. Face the music.
New cool thing to do: find a way to accuse every PSN update of being "lack luster" [sic]
Best thing Jamie Kennedy ever did was play the dude who was peeing on a bush in Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle.
Other than that, he can go away forever for all I care.
The developers don't have to "allow" it to be. PC gamers can activate things like antialiasing and anisotropic filtering through their video card alone without the assistance of the game itself.
I don't think there's a way that a developer could actually prevent any of that.
Shhh... there's no place for logic in fanboy wars.
Every developer wants every version of their game to be awesome. They dont want any version of their game to be "not as good as the other one."
That said, if the pc version has better visuals because of higher resolutions and anti aliasing/etc, that's not a development choice, that's an advantage of the platform.
So if the developer is not making any different design choices between platforms, then they are being honest. That doesn't mea...
I put up a "good riddance" twitter regarding this, and someone actually replied to me and said that they were legends.
Glorifying these guys just encourages copycats. They should be publicized as the cancer they were and nothing more.
Great article. I don't have much experience as a tester (just some betas back in the day before they became glorified demos), but ever since becoming a regular reviewer, it's a similar situation where you can't turn it off. Gone are the days for taking a game at face value. The automatic analysis kicks in and it gets harder to harder to just play games for fun anymore. So in a way, I can empathize.
A lot of good buzz on this game, it seems. Might have to give it a shot.
The Uncharted games were some of the few games that I wouldn't trade in after beating them. I just feel like I'll want to play them again (and I kinda do).
The collection thing is awesome, but I'd be interested to hear if there are any extras included for people like me who already have the original releases.
But for anyone who hasn't played them, this is a great time to get on board.
On the other hand, Gearbox has a prime opportunity to make a sequel where an "ok" release would be a ridiculously phenomenal improvement, provided it doesn't take another decade and a half.
You say you're "glad" as if to suggest that you somehow benefit from the fact that another platform won't be playing these games.
Since when can you not install mods on steam versions of games?
It's been fixed
"Meh" gameplay, fantastic character acting and a great plot.
I'd definitely play a sequel. Hope this comes to fruition.
Guys... read the article. It says they HAVEN'T figured out mods for consoles yet. Meaning there will be no mods for the consoles.
Final Fantasy XIII is absolutely not a bad RPG at all. It's just not a completely incredible game in a franchise in which they're expected.
FFXIII is a casualty of the success and popularity of the earlier games in the series.
Yes, it's linear for about 30 hours, non-linear for a while, and then linear again at the end. But I enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to FFXIII-2.
So many haters these days.
