Wow... what qualifies as news these days
Totally agreed.
I hope the author is satisfied trading slander for hits.
Worth playing, is what it is
Enslaved was pretty underrated, if for the narrative content and character acting alone
Team Fortress 2, hands down.
Runners up COD4MW, BC2
I had the same exact experience. Interesting how there's a solid contingent of people who had to give this game a second chance, and that it worked.
I had a similar experience to the author... Started once, hung out at Megaton, lost interest for whatever reason.
Went back months later, put in over 100 hours. Couldn't stop. Don't know why it took two tries, but when it got me, it got me.
Yeah exclusive games that don't sell and no one plays are not what we're discussing here. Exclusive games that DO sell and that lots of people play are what we define as "system sellers," so yes those would be the important ones to the companies and to the industry.
If the only exclusives left were the ones that didn't sell or that no one played, then the title of this article would be correct, and exclusives would be dead. But the only people who seem ...
Being a fan of the game has nothing to with it. I'm choosing not to include a casual, on-rails, motion-controlled game as a AAA exclusive.
Or does the notion of "AAA" exclusives confuse you?
I didn't say "no xbox exclusives," I said they let so many AAA ones get away. Gears, Halo, and Forza are what the 360 hangs it hat on now.
LOL @ star wars kinect even bothering to be in the conversation
Big surprise, source is a 360-centric site.
Just because you're bitter that MS let so many of its AAA exclusives get away doesn't mean that no one has exclusives anymore.
The point is being made because not everyone believes that the changes made to ME2 from the original were necessarily improvements, and this makes it sound like it will go further in that direction with ME3.
To each his own, but it's definitely not as simple as "any improvement is an improvement."
I don't know if I want visceral, intense action from Mass Effect...
Don't get me wrong. I LOVE both Mass Effect titles... one of my favorite franchises ever. But as more time goes by, I have a little more love for the original than Mass Effect 2.
That said, I can't wait for Mass Effect 3. Whatever people do or don't say about it, day one purchase for me. I'll say that I hope it has more in common with Mass Effect than Mass Effect 2, but I&...
Not so. If it WAS a throwback, it would've been much more well-received.
Putting graphics completely aside, there's a recharging health bar so the former run-and-gun style is replaced with "take cover, wait, shoot, repeat" and there's no more drive to explore levels for health packs.
You can only carry two weapons at a time now, which makes the crazy special weapons like the shrink ray nearly pointless because you'll never want to gi...
Countless hours on Kali with Descent 2. Such an awesome, awesome game.
Personally, I'm hoping that there's a sequel with a solid few years without changing development hands, something Serious Sam-esque. I'd welcome him back with open arms.
... How did I miss that episode?!
I'll always have a soft spot for Brutal Legend. Would have gone from great to fantastic if it wasn't for the weird RTS spin towards the end. Really wanted a sequel though, and was disappointed to hear that they're not planning one.
Most depressing comment ever... :(
Dude... read the article. It's a joke.
