Frankly I'm fed up of all this back and forth with the console specs but I've got to say, the people we see from Microsoft - what a bunch of twats.
I like the argument about DR3 underneath. There's a difference between not having a game because it was paid for by your competition and not having a game because one console can't run it. That's what seems to be implied from my point of view.
I honestly cannot wait for both consoles to come out and the back and forth to stop. Get them benchmarked, get them torn down and then we'll know it all for sure. Life will be a lot less infuriating.
I think people see Xbox games and think clean and shiny = better. When Forza 6 comes out and has a proper dev cycle you'll look at 5 and realise it's just a shiny next gen car on a 360 grade track.
Nintendo handhelds outsell Sony handhelds hand over fist and they've had no serious competitor in that market since they entered it. Console wise, since the NES they've been gradually declining in sales until the Wii, which blew everyone out of the water sales wise. Console wise the Wii U is a return to previous form for them, before the Wii blip, they sell consoles to their fans - they have difficulty attracting new customers, that's their problem in the console market (and they ...
Ryse looks far too shiny, that's a world without mud, dust or moss. The Perfect Dark Zero of the Xbox One. Forza looks good but it's just not real. Everything's too shiny and vibrant which makes it look worse in my opinion and the trackside stuff (buildings, tents etc) is shocking for next gen . I think Need For Speed running on the frostbite engine looks better.
Yeah, really saddens me to see a brand which was a byword for quality reduced to supermarket grade. I've had a Bravia for a few years and it is excellent but the models that have replaced it have been getting gradually worse.
Starting to doubt whether I'll be able to get one on launch now haha..
I think the internet has gotten ideas above it's station.
$525 can be connected to Microsoft's wallet :D haha...
Be good for party games though, and sports titles. Other than that, unnecessary but better to go too much than too little I suppose.
I got a 360 at launch played it everyday without fail, got a PS3 in 2008, played both since so I'm not biased but it's hard not to sound like a Sony fanboy because it's obvious that Microsoft are just fumbling about in the dark currently.
I've been a gamer for the best part of 20 years now, over about 20 systems and I'm passionate about it. You have to be otherwise it would have died out and be the niche it used to be, so it's not bashing to point out...
All the features are coming out after the chuffing console! It's like going to a car dealership, paying, taking delivery of your vehicle and then being told your seats and steering wheel will get to you in 3 months. Basically, at launch the console is half baked, and will draw negative criticism, so why not just wait until it's ready and release a console nobody can poke huge holes in?
Don't rush an unfinished product to the market, take your time and release a g...
I bet my left nut the actual map will look hardly anything like this. It's missing all the little towns in the wilderness and I think the scale of the city is way off, just from the size of the runways - if the runways take up that much space it wouldn't make GTA V much bigger than IV.
The console might actually be good but the launch itself is the very definition of a clusterf**k.
This is the game the One needs desperately.
I don't think the Vita and the 3DS are competing really -they're as different as you can get while still both being handhelds. But the 2DS isn't going to do anything to anyone I don't even think it'll stop people who only want 2D from just buying a 3DS and turning the 3D off, it's hideous.
I think he means it's strange because it isn't free day one with the xbox one, it's free with the preorders of the xbox one. So you'll get 2 people in GAME buying their Xbox at the exact same time, and one will have a copy of FIFA and one won't because of a £5 preorder. I'm sure there'll be some problems in game shops from people who thought they'd get FIFA if they bought an Xbox on launch day. If you've already preordered an Xbox why do you need a FIF...
People have said above - probably for storing the operating system since the HDD is non replaceable. However it's not for running the OS as some people have been saying, a) it's not quick enough, and b) Flash memory has a finite number of read/write operations before it craps out, so running an operating system from it would kill it super fast.
Sony are off the Christmas card list at Rockstar haha...
