Same as Ps4 demo units I've seen. They have a USB pass through for the controller, so the shell with USB pass through goes in the plastic case and the real console goes in the bottom of the display stand where there's better ventilation (and a locked door). Then you just plug in the controller through the shell and into the real one.
Newsflash: put a games console in a perspex box, doesn't really work.
The whole Battlefield/ COD resolution saga has made people think that resolution and framerate are the only things any extra power available can be used for. Not the case, if one is better than the other there are myriad ways that could manifest. Better particles, better draw distance, more objects on screen, lighting, shaders, better anti-aliasing etc etc.
There's more to how it looks than resolution and fps.
If Sony are arrogant what the hell are Microsoft?!
Saying that though, if anyone is arrogant it's Nintendo who continue to charge up the same street creating late consoles like the Wii U or casual consoles like the Wii because they think that another Zelda remake and a Mario game will keep them afloat. If they don't address their hubris quick sharpish it's going to bite them on the backside.
Maybe we'll get dual screen with the Vita for couch co-op.
It's a bit disappointing but as loads have said you can replace the HDD in the PS4 and eventually MS will have a solution since you can't replace the XB1 HDD.
Either way though, the games install as you play supposedly, so you're not going to be sat waiting for 3 hours as a 45GB game installs itself on your hard drive. So theoretically, so long as you have 50GB free you can play as many games as you want.
Isn't this ancient news that came out about 6 months ago? Memories are short within the game journalism community.
I'm thinking something like Farscape would be up their street. Either way Naughty Dog pretty much guarantees brilliance. Can't wait.
And play games in native 1080p.
Also it was a joke. Jesus. Grow a sense of humour.
Awww diddums.
F*** classy! It's true! Why not big up your products? "Oh, I can't say how good this game is because a Microsoft fanboy on the internet might cry"
No. This classy lark does my head in, they're 2 plastic boxes that play videogames. Does it even matter?
The less classy the better, more interesting that way.
This article is wrong. The Xbox was actual size ;)
The zombies had refreshments, carparking space and a resting area inside the power brick.
Major Nelson is looking it up (according to twitter) regarding MP3's and DLNA so you might want to wait a while before you do anything rash. Remember, Microsoft has Xbox Music - they'd like your money too.
PlayStation has never supported HDD's for game installation, so it's not really a big deal to existing PS owners. And the HDD is replaceable unlike the One so it's not the end of the world either.
Though I kind of think you were already...
I agree with most of this, but MKV will likely never come to anything from a reputable, major corporation due to it's reputation as the Pirates file of choice haha...
I didn't use the media server option often, but I liked the choice if I couldn't be bothered to copy a 4 gig file onto my HDD. As for the MP3's that's a pretty basic function you'd expect, but it's not a deal breaker, more of a bummer.
Shu normally delivers though, I ...
Could look better but I have hope.
Heavenly Sword was my first PS3 game and I still love it, it really holds up too even compared to some recent games. I'd love Heavenly Sword 2 on PS4 :D
What I don't get is Microsoft have been the ones touting the possibility of future 4K gaming on it's console, whereas Sony have just said "Maybe, but unlikely - we'll see" and MS can't even get a multi generation Call of Duty game to run in native 1080p!
If this disparity isn't just down to the Xbox's supposedly (at the moment)inferior dev tools then they are pretty screwed.
Multimedia is fine but I don't watch TV, so the only way the features would be useful is if the Xbox One plays .MKV files, which I highly doubt or if the Netflix/ streaming apps are much better on the system. Even then though they're behind a XBL Gold flavoured paywall, whereas on PS4/PS3 other services which aren't Sony are free to use (bar subscription costs obv)so they'd have to be A LOT better to make me pay for access.
And as we get closer to launch and g...
Google and Microsoft are fast becoming two of the most threatening corporations in the world. Privacy is a basic right, I get that it's only a games console but jeez.
This is why I refuse to update any apps on my Android phone, the permissions are getting out of hand. And it's why I won't be buying an Xbone likely ever or until some kind of uprising happens against s**t like this.
Absolutely horrendous! They shouldn't be allowed to charge the full $60 for it if 4 hours of campaign is your lot. Just get rid of it altogether if they're not going to make an effort.
I don't think you need 60FPS for every game, racing and shooting definitely, but for something like RYSE or Uncharted/ TLOU I think if you ran it at 60FPS it'd lose it's filmic look. I don't have a competent PC though so maybe my eyes aren't open to the brilliance of high frame rates haha
A while back a Microsoft person said the Kinect was almost as expensive to produce as the console itself, so there's your value problem. £429, say the Kinect is £150 of it - if they didn't bundle it, the Xbox One would be closer to the price of a 32GB Wii U.
Like you said, people wouldn't give a rat's ass about 720p if the console was £279 but it's not.
