no way. absolutely no chance that is for real.
even if you skip all the cutscenes, conversations etc, and use Romans taxi ability to literally get you everywhere (hence saving on journey times) you wouldn't come close to be being able to do it in 17mins.
couple of the missions are quite long - and even if you run through them, i.e not using cover, each will take you a couple mins at best and theres about 60 of them.

truth be told though i'm not even sure how the logistics of this would go. would you just want the original game with revamped graphics? or a complete overhaul in the way things are done, battlesystem, interaction, levels, character development etc. it strikes me as an incredibly double edged sword. listening to Laslow on Integrity is bloody funny - especially when one of his guests starts choking the monkey to relieve himself. laslow just carries on talking.
its the little comedy moments in an intrinsically comical (yet serious) game that makes the GTA franchise worth so much

am not denying these problems though. mate of mine in the office came in yesterday and said he had problems starting up GTA. couple reinstalls later and he got lucky coz it sorted itself out. but a lot of people arn't having the same luck with it

man GTA IV is in a whole other league. its just the side quests are actual activities rather than summit stupid like spray painting every territory in the hood in SA.
i enjoyed SA, but it didn't capture my imagination in the same way GTA4 has
fairly sure Vlads the guy you execute down near the "river" (if you can call it that) the dude who you can let live or not up on the high ledgesn is a guy thats pissed off Vlad - whom he sends you out to kill.
