Pirates just get cracked versions of games without the DRM. The only people who can't play a game with DRM are people who legally purchase games.

I never said all PC gamers were pirates.
I also never said PC games couldn't make money.
The amount of money a game makes is the amount per unit * units. The amount per unit may be higher for PC digital downloads but the units is significantly lower.
Game companies have admitted the console market is more lucrative than the PC gaming market. Are you suggesting otherwise?

There are PC gamers that buy all of their games but that doesn't mean there isn't a huge number of people who pirate PC games.
If you look at the sales of most games that are released on consoles, and the PC the console version(s) almost always sells better. If you look at how many people play the games (sales + pirated copies) the number of PC gamers is larger than the number of console gamers.

I'm not suggesting anyone buy a game they don't want but Square is also making a game called Versus. Do you want that game?
If you do it would make sense for you to want Square to succeed in the game market so they can finish Versus.
If everyone stopped buying games from Square until Versus is released they would go bankrupt before Versus is finished...
