Now I'm waiting for the "Amazon security failure" "Amazon's security sucks" articles.

Also supports the notion that the hackers had a well thought out plan.

I was only referring to you because you posted the article on the site for approval.

But also observing your viewpoints on N4G for a while now in passing tells me that you might just like the situation described above.

Yes Loner, Yes. They all will leave, in flocks. Lines of of developers, as far as the eye can see.

Every single PS3 game will be cancelled. PSN will be permanently shut down. Sony will burn their Playstation manufacturing plants, remaining hardware, and remaining software in stock to heat their food up for dinner.

Is that what you want to hear? Of course they ALL won't leave. But I wouldn't be surprised if a few "indie" level developer...

Double Post, sorry.

Your thinking of building a gaming PC to haha.

So am I, but not because of the downtime, just general interest now. Still plan to use my PS3 for GT5 and multiplayer when PSN is back up. But I've definitely been checking out PC hardware lately, I just don't have the cash to drop on it at the moment.

i7 2600k for overclocking, 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 Ram (for start), 2x GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr SLI, and of course a P67 B3 revision motherboard with a nice ...

While I wouldn't know which version was which if they weren't labeled, I can certainly tell the difference between the two.

There is an overall lack of sharpness/crispness/more muddy look to the right video. There are also more visible colors/details (look at crates, etc..) on the left video.

Are those differences game breakers? No, but they are differences.

You must not like the majority of games out there.

Especially if upgrading your powers, taking on new mission types, fighting different enemy types in new locations, etc... is "the same thing all game long"

I agree with the above comments that exclusives aren't automatically the best games, etc.. etc...

But it is nice to have more exclusives than less. It just means more games for the gamers. I enjoy multi platform games a lot, but I don't mind playing exclusives either. Games are games to me.

If Uncharted was on Xbox to, I'd still play it haha. If Gears was on PS3, day one buy for me.

Agreed,

Especially when noting about the hackers abilities/skills. A lot of people seem to be undermining Sony's security instead of considering the skill of the hackers.

I mean we are all essentially guessing when it comes to what happened and the state of PSN's security.

Good point,

Gears of war copied Killswitch, but I'm sure Gears of War is a much smoother experience and better experience overall.

Just as long as the game is better, or improves on a key aspect of the gameplay than its fine with me.

US Gamestop hasn't updated their website to reflect the deal as of yet. The site in the article is the Canadian site.

I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and see if they are doing it here. My old 40GB is holding up well, but wouldn't mind getting a newer one for that cheap.

It is a shame when information like that isn't heard by top management. Better communication practices should be implemented.

I'm curious if the "known vulnerability" is the same thing this professor is referring to.

Interesting indeed.

But I'm not sure of its credibility and validity given that Sony said firewalls were in fact in place. As a matter of fact, 3 were in place based on their diagram released.

Just because they did not attend a meeting/conference, doesn't mean they did not deal with the issue.

I used to run an outdated version of virus protection. My computer warned me about it, suggesting updates. 3 months later, does that still m...

I certainly agree that the amount of information compromised makes a difference.

And I also do not think Sony was not "prepared". I believe it was a well thought out attack. All security networks have their weak points.

In order to find one, stealthily, and then design a way to get into the network in a quick manner to access very specific data in specific locations in a short amount of time denotes a well thought out attack to me.

5403d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

I think "any" network includes all networks, gaming or not.

Also remember the attack was larger in scope towards Sony due to the enraged hacker group because of the lawsuit and other things floating around the web.

And as Nitro and Fishy pointed out "Cyber Cafe owner" data was compromised. Yes it might not be on the same scale, but information breach is information breach, regardless of size. I doubt those Cyber Cafe owners are were sayi...

EDIT: My mistake on the last comment, the email did not say specifically to update your t-shirt size.

But it did ask to make sure your address was up to date, which is when I saw the t-shirt size option and updated mine.

EDIT: Oops, was wrong with my previous comment.

But there is an option on the playstation website to chose a t-shirt size. I saw that when making sure my mailing address was correct.

How are they obviously not getting a grip on this situation.

They are taking all necessary actions. I am one of those 900, but I seem to be more calm than most people on here about the situation. Guess I trust fraud measures that will be taken in the event of my information being used.

Yea its actually a pretty sweet deal. Especially if you take advantage of the discounts.

I unfortunately missed out on some good ones, like the Dead Nation discount, etc... But if you like to buy games off PSN, don't miss the good ones.
