How can it be rushing when GRID was released 2008? Personally I think they tried to up the ante with the graphics and they couldn't maintain a continual frame rate from inside the cockpit so they dropped it. Inside the cockpit is the most demanding view. If Codemasters were honest they would admit that was the real reason it was dropped and not come up with deferring rhetoric.
A view has nothing to do with sim vs arcade but the added level of immersion you get while playing the game. Dirt, Shift, Horizon, PGR and the original GRID has/had a cockpit view.
It's my preferred view for all racing games regardless of the level of realism. As it is with most wheel users.

Codemasters is following the rest of the industry going the smash and grab route. What a shame. They are one of my all time favorite racing devs. I had a bad feeling after Showdown. Now here we go 2 games in a row. If DIRT 4 doesn't have a cockpit view I'm gonna kick my dog.
That's nothing but a weak excuse and not the reason it was removed. They obviously ran into issues and rather than work through them (costing $$$) they simply eliminated it.

Removal of cockpit view is disappointing and I hope it doesn't become a trend for Codemasters. ALL of their other racing games have a cockpit view.

I'm not being smug. MS obliterates Sony and Nintendo when it comes to marketing. They are a marketing machine and always have been as a company. Just look at the video included. It's a knock at MS (from Apple) but it couldn't be more accurate and one of the biggest reasons MS has been so successful. People can say or think what they want but investing a TON of money into advertising "usually" pays off 10 fold.

It's a niche gaming audience but more than you think.
Especially for hardcore racing fans.
The duration of ANY game depends on the gamer. What skill level (difficulty setting) you choose, if you run through or or explore (collectibles), and how many times you complete the game.
DMC is roughly 8hrs (I'm guesstimating) yet I personally got about 30 hours of entertainment out of it by playing on varying difficulties and obtaining all abilities and collectibles.
