Of course Sony will spend significantly less money on the PS4. The bulk of the money they spent on the PS3 was because of the Cell and BluRay. So of course it will be cheaper to manufacture the PS4 since that technology is now vastly cheaper to implement. Sony lost a ton of money on the PS3 because of that.

Nintendo is going after a different demographic than Sony and MS. Nintendo coming out first is happening because they are using antiquated hardware which is cheaper to design and manufacture. Sony and MS will take a much bigger risk while spending more money on cutting edge technology for their hardware and most likely it will be released at a higher MSRP than that of the Wii U.
Nintendo, Sony and MS all did fine this generation and will all do fine next generation.

Bummer. I was going to ask you how the load times are and the textures look. Tekken 6 wasn't horrible on load times but they weren't good either. The textures in 6 looked bad and the resolution blurry. I'm waiting on mine from GameFly. Didn't want to purchase it out of the gate because of my complaints with T6.

My favorite game this generation is Uncharted 2. It's all personal preference. There were a lot of great games this generation. Too many to list.

Either way it doesn't matter what we or gamerevolution thinks because they will all continue next generation. Uncharted is the series I most want to see next gen. Easily my top 3 favorite new IP this generation and I would love to see what Naughty Dog can accomplish with even more power.

Yeah Ballmer is right. Sony should focus all of it's efforts on the PS4. There is no reason why Sony should come out with a new console revision at a cheaper price point. We all know the PS2 stopped selling the day the PS3 released. Sony can't repeat that same mistake again.

GTAIV - The cutscenes were better than the gameplay. The game was way too repetitive and honestly felt like a chore.

The problem with Digital is most of the pros on are the industries side at the cost of tens of thousands of jobs (very modest estimate) over time. That is what the world wide economy needs more than anything, less jobs.

I would place reason 5 with peripheral compatibility. IMO that is where the PS3 really shines. You have a lot more options with wheels, pads, keyboard, mice, fight and flight sticks, headphones, bluetooth technology, usb support, etc.
With MS everything has to be licensed and certified by them and that limits your options with peripherals. Example: I can use any FFB wheel (Logitech, Fanatec, Thrustmaster, MOMO, etc) with my PS3. With the 360 it's Fanatec or bust unless yo...
Sony isn't trying to combat the Wii U. They are merely making a more cost effective unit so they can sell it at a lower price point and still turn a profit. It will increase their user base which will increase their bank. More units usually equates to higher percentage of software sales.
