Those displays you are talking about HHG often cause more input lag. Input lag can be worse than a poor internet connection when it's comes to gaming, especially online gaming. I usually base my display purchases on ones that have the least input lag. Nothing else matters. Not contrast ratios, ms times, 120hz, 240hz, 3D or what have you.
Input lag can be a bitch for online gaming.

I have the 911 S and was looking for this new wheel to hit but didn't know it was coming this soon. Definitely going to preorder it today.
I am at a point in GT5 (Extreme level) and I don't have any cash to purchase cars to compete. Now I have to redo a ton of races to earn the coin to compete in extreme and complete 2 expert events.
I spent way to much $$$ tuning my favorite cars and making them look pretty. Now I am "paying" the price for it literally.
The only area I am having a problem is dirt races. I just can't seem to get the hang of it. I gold every snow event and do ok...

On a FFB wheel this is no other experience in gaming like it. That's the draw for me and millions of others that play racing simulators.
Anyone with webspace is a critic today. The sad part is their opinions are usually 1 dimensional and narrow minded. Go back to the one trick pony NFS:HP, a gas and go game, and leave the real driving experience to the experienced drivers.
Garnett you are entitled to your opinion. Unlike you, I have played and completed Forza 3 and now having logged roughly 30 hours into GT5, I will simply and "definitively" disagree with you.
Obutto is a nice set up. Very versatile. I know a couple people that have them and love them. This is the one at the top of my wish list.

I play all types of racing games and will tell you from my point of view Arcade racers are very short lived. Even if they have excellent wheel support I grow tired of them once I completed the single player and run it a few times online.
I recently completed Blur (on both systems) and Split Second in 2 weeks of gaming...
Need a lot more information before I would consider purchasing one. I have a Fanatec 911 S and the best thing about it is being able to adjust the degrees of rotation on the fly. That feature is really useful with games like GT5 from Indy cars to Karts.
This new Thrustmaster does look like one beast of a wheel though. Hopefully a site like insidesimracing.tv will get one early to do a full review on one.
GT5 has the most accurate track dimensions and look more authentic with their photo realism and color palette.
I just got done running this very track with this very car on GT5. I just bought the F40 this morning and ran Nurburgring about 6 or 7 times today.
For kicks I am going to compare laps times on both games using the same car and similar settings this weekend to see how they compare.

Is it just me or do the guys in this video look like real life Beavis and Butthead but in reverse?
I picked up GT5, played until I was burned out, took a snack break and installed while doing so. Got done grabbing a bite, checking my emails, reading a couple articles on here (N4G), then went back to playing GT5 after the full install.
Man that was so rough on me. /s
-1 out of of 10 or 10 out of 10 and I will still say repeatedly and sincerely that GT5 is the best racing game I have played this generation. The only thing the media is showing is how irrelevant and ignorant they have become. This is a sim racing game and nearly every article I have read agrees that the racing is excellent. They are marking this title down for things that have nothing to do with the game play other than a remark or two about AI which is silly. I have yet to play any racer on...

That is what I was talking about and people disagreed with me. When you enable those modes (240hz, etc) the display lags and online that is a killer.
