i actually thought the movie looked promising...
but it probably turned out to be a mindless action flick eh?
i waited 3 hours to see a fortune teller, who closed with 4 people before me. i also waited for a ps3 4 hours one cold morning only to find out they didn't have one. life's a b!tch. deal with it.
i agree that intel's duo core was the first chipset that truly outpaced AMD, (because i used to love amd's stuff, especially their early fx series) but the duo cores are now being used in so many different computers, which is something amd never had. and ati hasn't put out a good chip since the 1xxx series and hasn't had a market leading chip since the 9800. you can't argue that. pc enthusiasts will tell you nothing different.
i agree that you might have to give up some pixels to gain consistent framerates, but i've made an observation:
it seems that games developed solely for ps3 usually run at "normal" resolutions natively. whereas multiplatform games have to give some ground. last time i said this, i got about 30 disagrees... but if you look at that list that people love posting around here, you'll see its true.
yes, because buying ATI helped them out so much too.
doesn't matter what reviewers say. i bought the game today, and it's the greatest thing i've played in a long long long time. no screen tearing or w/e ign said, the enemies are tough and smart, but go down easily if you aim for their heads. simply stunning.
neg. dlp has potential for disaster when the mirrors stop working. plus it gives awful rainbow colors sometimes if its a bad set.
LCoS is the best if you don't mind it being a projection. LCD yields are great now so dead pixels are slowly becoming a rarity.
yep. i agree with what you said. having 1080p doesn't hurt, but you don't need it if your tv is under 40-50 inches.
but i'm happy with my setup..
1080p 60"
2ms response time
10000:1 contrast..
i win :-p
but if you want the best in the market right now, pioneer elite or sony xbr5
you just have to say something negative about anything dealing with the ps3 don't you. if you bothered to look, that one's made by sega, this one by square. i know they both start with "s"'s, but even you shouldn't be confused by that
so, i bought this game today. came home around 3 from a friends house... played it for 4 hours. seemed like 1 hour went by. i haven't had this much fun in a video game in ages. sometimes i stop just to pan the camera. this game is a complete winner.
this would make a great birthday present.
gotta agree with you here bladestar. too many fronts. sony has to rebuilt itself first. i wouldn't buy a phone for gaming. an iphone maybe, but not a playstation phone..
once sony regains some financial footing, things should look up for their endeavors. chances are, after the holiday season and most of 08, things will look bright for them. case point, ps3 sales should increase, and their bravia line should sell like hotcakes
the arcade version is great... guess it didn't make the console translation well.. haha
led backed monitors are crazy bright. the new line of macbook pros have them, and they are really bright, and the screens don't have mercury in them. kudos to apple for being on the cutting edge.
you can't really be sick of ff games.. considering they're all fundamentally different from one another. besides, squeenix is a very talented developer, and anything coming from them should be anticipated. (except that barbie game)
i'm hoping for co-op story this time, rather than just play the missions..
question: didn't they do this last year as well?
its their opinionated list. they're not doing based on review scores or sales, but rather what they thought were the ten best games. don't take it too seriously, its like me and you or anyone else on this site making a "this is my top 10 games from this year" list.
by full specifications, does he mean full features? because if he meant all available horsepower, then perhaps they optimized white engine even more to use all 6 spu's available..
the simplest reason why Zune will not do well this holiday season (not fail..):
revamped ipod line
advertising blitz by apple
revamped apple stores across the country
its a microsoft product (no joke) its not "cool" to have a m$ product like it is to have an ipod
