The sooner Sony realize this the sooner they can turn the ship around. Home is a horrible, expensive and totally pointless concept. PS3 owners want to find friends and play games. Nobody give a rat's ass about walking around in some virtual world and hanging around in their room.
Home need to be network centric service, meaning bandwidth, content and dedicated servers should be central focus. Where Sony is taking it right now they're doomed to failure and the PS3 with it.
Halo 3 is the biggest game launch ever. If it racked up more money than the Potter book or a Hollywood blockbuster is completely trival. The fact remains, it is the biggest video game launch to date, and I doubt any game will come close to matching this number anytime soon.
And no, KZ2 and MGS 4 won't even touch this number. Sony would do extremely well if they can even match 50% of Halo's day one figures with both of those titles combined. So yeah, that pretty damn impressive....
Halo 3 runs great and works fine...as long as I don't get the red ring LOL! For a game that sold so many copies some kind of production issue is bound to happen. Not a big issue.
Why did he kill himself? I know GTA got delayed but damn, the pressure to ship can't be that bad...can it?
Her hairs seems a little flat and that shirt is a fashion no no. Who the hell produced this interview??
Ray tracing a rabbit means absolutely nothing in terms of real world performance. Anyone with half a brain would understand this, and the G80 totally crush what Cell and the PS3 have to offer. Lets put it this way, the 8800 GTX have 768 MB of RAM, PS3 have 512 MB of total system memory.
I think we're done here.
Impartial fans who own both console know this, Warhawk is a superior multiplayer game. This is something that the fanboys will never accept but that doesn't change the fact that its true. Dedicated server support alone put Warhawk over Halo 3, and thats not even counting all the other cool gameplay innovations. Hell if Warhawk is a Xbox 360 game it would sell by the truck loads, you can stick a fork in the console war, Xbox 360 win.
Sony is extremely lucky to have Warhawk.
UT is and always will be a PC game at heart. Any console version be it Xbox or PS3 will be an inferior and crippled version. Deal with this fact and you'll be much better off.
This is why when I buy games for my PS3, I'll go for games that play toward it's strengths like Heavenly Sword, Motostorm and Warhawk. Games like CoD 4, UT3 and Fallout 3 I'll buy for the PC where they are so much better.
The point of buying these overpriced version is to get ripoff, I thought everyone knew this by now.
Then keep playing Mario with your POS Wii and STFU.
Thats awesome in your book? Damn, it's not like he got a blow job from Jessica Alba or anything. And how much is Bill Gates autograph worth...nothing?
Everyone love Nariko but to be honest I would rather have the HS series move on. She's very emo and they used her "tragic" story to show off what a nextgen character can do, and thats done and over with. I would rather see someone more badass and sly wielding the Heavenly Sword on the next round, someone that Americans can identify with and admire. Nobody want to play a game where the lead character is on the verge of tears in almost every scene.
Nope. It doesn't matter how good Killzone is and how amazing the graphics, there is a pop culture element to Halo that simply can not be matched.
You dont' have to be Mickey Mouse to be a cultural icon. Hell Jenna Jameson can be considered as cultural icon and she also rang the closing bell at Wallstreet.
The dual format is killing HD ability to penetrate the mass market. Even if the players drop to $200 the average American will continue to stay away. The fact is nobody like to choose between Transformer or Spiderman, they expect their players to play movies period and no magical price point will change this rather basic expectation.
You're wrong. A mass market person wouldn't buy any HD player at all regardless of the price until the format war is finished. People don't buy players for their price, they buy players for their movies. Thats why a slow but steady market penetration by the hardcore and average HD fans will tip the scale in this war.
A popular series like Halo is bascially a cash cow. In development or not a sequel will always be there whenever either Bungie or MS need to crank out some $$. Its only a matter of time before one of them tap the Halo franchise again.
The real impact of Halo 3 won't be know until after the Xmas season and selling more system is pointless they can "finish the fight" to borrow a phrase. The problem with MS is they always declare victory prematurely instead of striking the killing blow.
If I recall there used to be a so called "gaming phone" prior to this, it died a lonely a death. Because phones are too small the controls always suck and because the controls sucks, the games also sucks.
Heavenly Sword is an awesome game. If you want to see mediocre try Strangle Hold and Conan.
