Unless they totally re-envisioned the franchise this game is doomed. What worked in 1988 won't work today.
Half Life 2 is two years old. Basically while Xbox players were playing with Halo 2, PC gamers were playing with HL 2. The Orange Box is just a repackaged HL 2 with a few things added on for value and to introduce console gamers to HL 2. It just goes to show you how far behind the console is in comparison to the PC when a two years old PC game is considered as an AAA console shooter.

PC- Dedicated servers with 32 players plus. Silky smooth network performance.
Xbox 360- peer to peer networking with only 16 players max, and laggy gameplay with 16 peeps games.
You ever played Team Fortress on a full server of 32 players vs Live peer to peer with only 16 players? Its a HUGE freaking difference. The PC version easily win by a mile. Team Fortress just doesn't feel right with anything less than 20 players.

Thats what it looks like on my $1400 PC and I run Orange Box at 720p 60 FPS without breaking a sweat. The only issue I have is when I run the game with 8X AA, thats when the framerate take a considerable dive but at 4X AA its smooth as butter and looks better than my Xbox 360 by a mile. I'm already extremely dissapointed. There is nothing Capcom have that can impress me. Its not like their game is going to be next Halo or anything yet they have this stupid countdown like its somekind of big deal. Idiots.
LOL thats like saying the sky is blue, there is no point in making such an obvious statement. PC gamging is all about the hotrods and speedsters, three years old Dell PCs need not apply, and that is exactly what make it so great. Unlike the console world you get exactly what you paid for and the game's performance is only limited by your rig. It is the only platform that is completely future proof.

Its the cost. Should've HD-DVD movies cost less than Bluray movies? The players are cheaper, so why can't the movies be cheaper considering that fact that disk have less space?
Peer to peer sucks and need to die, three years ago. Thanks to this ancient networking connect Orange Box's multiplayer is VASTLY inferior to its PC counterpart where there are 32 players servers everywhere. Maybe instead of dishing out trucks full of money on stupid exclusive downloadable content, MS should invest some money into dedicated servers for Live. Its time to get out of the stone age Microsoft.

Bioware's MMO will probably suck. They have zero experience and most of their games are story driven. But look at on the bright side, at least Bioware didn't get bought out my Microsoft. They are absolutely the worst MMO publisher of all time. Basically every MMO they ever touched died a horrible, horrible death. The Asheron Call franchise and Vanguard being the prime examples.
