Bungie isn't a world beater developer, they are no where near to being the Blizzard, Epic, Id and Vavle of the gaming industry. Anyone with half a brain can upgrade the hard drive on the PS3 so 160 gig doesn't impress me. The extra HDMI and ethernet ports is also pointless. I'm not seeing what I need to see, more RAM and a new GPU. Untill those two issues are addressed this new PS3 doesn't qualify as "beefed up" at all, the only thing it does is rape your wallet.
How about spreading the love by giving out some free content that isn't crap? Like map packs and other retail downloadables. I'm tired of being nickled and dimed by a "premium" service that isn't premium at all.

My humble $1200 PC build 8 months ago come equiped with a 8800 GTX and all the trimings. Run the Crysis beta at 720p 40fps on high to very high settings as smooth as butter. Of course the requirement for putting a system like this together at a decent price requires the usage of one's brain, which might explain why some people throw up the $5000 PC quote.

I think there is a culture clash in terms of gaming is at work here. People who hate JRPGs will hate this game. I'm one of those people, I can't even look at some blantly Japanese games like Final Fantasy without throwing up. On the other hand I enjoy western RPGs like NWN, Oblivion and Fallout. I'm sure quite a few Japanese have a low opinion about western games as well.
