WTF are you talking about. Halo's control scheme is nothing more than attempt to translate keyboard and mouse movements to the gamepad. They didn't freaking invent FPS controls, the PC did that with Wolf 3D.
Thats a great list. The only game you're missing is Diablo and maybe Quake but you're dead on.
Master Chief was obviously influenced by the infamous Doom marine. Its the same with Solid Snake, he was influenced by Snake Plissken. These characters don't put influences in other games, they had influences placed on them. Plus no self respecting devs will have their characters be influenced by MC or Snake simple because it doesn't make any sense to clone, a clone.
Same here. Home is not something simple like firmware, if it live up to it's billing Home will be a massive and complex piece of software that rivals any game for the PS3. Comparison wise its actually the closest the PS3 have to an operating system.
I want my Amazon back and druid back too :(
Tmac actually knows WTF he's talking about. The world of Diablo is dark and grim. Everywhere you go the world seems to be cloaked in a creeping shroud of darkness. Basically it comes down to this, anyone who played Fallout 2 can look at a screenshot of Fallout 3 and feel at home with the world despite Fallout 3 being completely different than Fallout 2. The Fallout "universe" seems intact and familar.
With Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, the difference in the art direction of ...
I would like to have the 360's controler for my PS3 please. If that mod is retail quality and it works with rumble, I wouldn't mind buying it.
LOL will your Fallout fanboism ever take a day off? In every Fallout article you're literally gushing with effection. I love Fallout too but on the PC Fallout 3 is really a console game with mods, we both know that if Fallout 3 is a PC game it'll be completely different. This article is about PC games. With that in mind its a split between Empire: Total War and Spore. I suppose L4D could edge them out if you prefer shooters instead of strategy games.
Yeah $60 price drop on a $600 card is nothing. But I would rather go with a single 4870 until ATI improve their Xfire performance. For some reason ATI Xfire performance scaling is rather poor, there is very little difference between two 4850 and two 4870. Nvidia SLI cards scale a lot better, to truely win this war ATI need to close that gap.
For only $9.99.
...on the PC! Just wait a few months for a superior version of Gears 2 and get it for $20 on the PC where it looks better, and play better. After playing Gears at 1080p native and 4X AA there's no way I'm going back to the Xbox version. Resistance 2 however can only be played on the PS3. I'm gonna buy that upon release and get Gears 2 later. Its a win win.
Optimizing a control pad for FPS is like putting wings on a pig and expecting it soar like an eagle. Its not gonna work, not even close. The real answer is to devise a serious FPS controler for the consoles from the get go. Mouse movements are smooth and natural, nobody think about aming with a mouse, they just do it. Since games are becoming more and more PC like everyday Sony and MS need to find a way to replicate the endless flexibility and accuracy of the mouse and keyboard combo and tran...
No. What you ment to say is this is why stupid DLC ripoffs never work. If all those expansions were free or only cost $5 each then this wouldn't be a problem.
The world is not going to end if you don't get the new firmware the minute it goes out. Relax.
Same. Age of Conan is just your typical paid beta MMO. I'm sorry but in this day and age that isn't acceptable anymore.
...must...buy.
Since they're delaying the game even before the beta so I'm guessing this is something more profound than gameplay tweaks. A summer month like August or late July would've been an ideal time to release Socom, September would've been ok but October is really pushing it. By that time we're getting into the 4th quarter and thats when the big boys come out to play. Being a PSN online only game, Socom can't run with the big boys.
Thats why Bethesda games almost always requires to mods to fix their flaws and to mitigate their lack of polish. Case in point Morrowind and Oblivion...unfortunately for Fallout 3 the consoles do not support mods.
This game blows. The bikes jump 100 feet into the air while the rider spend a lifetime in zero gravity doing tricks, then when the bike land on a slope it doesn't even bounce once. LAME.
Flashback was awesome. Agreed.
