Some elements of Watch Dogs were really good. The free running and gun play were spot on but absolutely everything else in the game missed the mark. I wouldn't be scrapping it as a franchise as there definitely is potential there. As Magnes said, it's all very reminiscent of AC. First game was way too over ambitious for a brand new ip but the second is up there with some of the best games of last gen imo. I'm pretty pissed my self that there's no Japanese and I don't see any Lambos there for launch either, but I'll take quality over quantity any day, especially knowing that they are coming eventually. The game is taking forever to come out so I'll gladly pick up a copy next month with what ever cars are there rather than having to wait another year for them to put all intended car...

I don't know why everyone complains about the retro and sawn off. The game is balanced because everyone has the same load out options and there's nothing stopping anyone using these weapons to their own advantage. If you're any good at the game you can spot someone coming with a retro or sawn off from a mile away and you can adapt. If they have sawn off, you keep your distance. It's beginning to look more likely that the Last of Us has a very good chance of getting GOTY again. Not that it wouldn't be deserving as it's a masterpiece, but it's still not a good thing. So far this gen has been a completely underwhelming experience. I really hope some of the big hitters to come in the next few months live up to expectations.

I'm the same. I downloaded the demo last gen but just didn't get it. Just ended up wandering around aimlessly. It's probably a good thing I didn't get it though cause I don't have time to get totally addicted and pump hundreds of hours in to games anymore :P
@LamerTamer Man, cutting down those flags was a nightmare until I figured out just to stand still and jump straight up. They perfected the controls in AC 2 but then they got worse in 3 and worse again in IV. Watchdogs was pretty tight control wise on foot and the gunplay was solid too. Every other aspect of the game lacked though. They stuffed it with too many boring side missions that felt more like a chore and not enough of the good ones like the hideouts. Driving controls were a bit weird....
It's the multiplayer that stands out most for me too. Have to hand it to Microsoft, they absolutely nailed it with xbox live on the 360 from the get go.

I remember being really excited for that. After all the amazing cutscenes in the games and them having so much great material to work with within the Final Fantasy universe............. what the hell were they thinking?!?!
That would really suck if true. It's always nice to open a bare handed can of whoop ass. I don't know why developers remove things from their games. Just like when they removed being able to jump left/right off of the wall as you were running up in AC3 and BF. Why the hell did they remove that?!?
If they just went back to what made made 1 & 2 so good then I'm all for it. Surely they'll learn from their mistakes with 3. Surely.......
Downloaded it last night but girlfriend wouldn't let me turn it on because I'd shown her a 10 second clip on YouTube as it was downloading. Think I'm going to have to send her to bed early tonight so I can stay up and play it on my own.
I just went through Dead Space 1 & 2 again there a few weeks ago. Such a shame they ruined the franchise. A current gen Dead Space could be amazing. As for Mass Effect, they were some of the few games that when I wasn't playing I wanted to get back to to see what was going to happen next. When I finished 3 I wasn't so much upset, but it was so anti-climatic it just made the whole "journey" instantly forgettable.
I'm getting again too. Only thing I ever wanted more from any of the GTA games was to have more life on the streets. I know there are still a lot of npc's on PS3/360 but just from what we've seen so far on current gen it looks like the streets are going to be absolutely thronged!!! Can't wait to jump in a car and take to the pavement :P Sadistic, I know.

One of a few games I really wanted to play but never got around to. My only problem now is hard drive space. I still only have the 20gb I got with my 360 way back in 2006!!! Really don't want to delete Super SF IV!!
If you really want to see what a good sport is you should try catching the All Ireland Senior Hurling Final this Saturday. No other sport comes near to it.
