@poppinslops: At first I thought the speaker in the controller was completely useless too but some developers have used it in a way that I thought was pretty cool. In GTA V where you have the phone coming through the speaker, and especially in Alien Isolation with the motion tracker beeps coming through. I thought that was a nice touch and added to the immersion. If anything is useless or gimmicky it's the touchpad. I have yet to see that used in any practical way so far.
Overall...
Dunno why you're getting disagrees pivotplease. The installs are ridiculous. I've already filled my hdd and have to go on a deletion spree everytime I get a new game now. I remember thinking it'll be a long long long time before I ever fill that 500gb when I got the ps4!!
I remember being in the queue at GameStop for the midnight launch of GTA V. I had to keep checking that I was actually in the queue for GTA V and not a queue for tickets to a One Direction concert or something. There was nothing but 12/13 yr olds with their mothers in the queue. Anywho, it's good that it has an M/18 rating. Means they didn't hold anything back.
@Waltyfm: God damn it, Bonestorm?!?!! I was hoping for Lee Carvallos Putting Challenge this month :-(
GTA III for me too. Just experiencing everything in that game the first time absolutely blew my mind. I remember finishing up work in the evening, popping it in to the PS2 and next thing I know I'm still sitting in the armchair absolutely glued to it at about 7 or 8 the next morning thinking "sh*t, I really need to go to bed now!!" Every 5 minutes I was asking myself "did that just actually happen??" Even to this day no other game has topped that experience of my first...
I was having trouble downloading the Witcher 2 yesterday as I hadn't enough space when it was given free last month. Clear the cache AND marketplace data on your hdd, power off for a minute or so and try again. I still couldn't download after only deleting cache but it worked when I cleared the marketplace data too.
Didn't realise these were releasing so close together. Finally got around to my GWG backlog recently and started the Witcher 2 last night. How the hell did I miss these games?!? Witcher 3 is day one anyway just from what I've played of 2 so far. But if I'm not finished with the Witcher 3 before Arkham Knight comes out it'll be dropped like a hot potato til I'm finished whopping some ass bat style.
Think you need to work on your calculations there.
I've still yet to pick up Unity too and I'm a huge AC fan. Planning on getting in the next few weeks so I hope all those patches have the game sorted by now. From what I have seen of it online though, it should never have been released in the state it was in on release. It should've been delayed until all the bugs were ironed out and it ran smoother. You have to wonder how all those bugs got through testing and q&a in the first place though. Someone should be held accountable ...
Gears 3 is still my go to game for multi and I still play it more regularly than any other mp game. Judgement was a huge letdown. I just hope they keep the formula of 3, build on it and have the sense to drop all the changes that Judgement brought in. This is the one game I'm waiting for to buy an Xbone.
Yeah, I think it was pretty obvious a sequel was going to come after that ending. My only gripe about the game was the last couple of boss battles. Oh, and the world could have had more detail. Other than that, one of the best games of last year. The sequel will be a day one purchase.
I have no idea either as to why Cliff is regarded as one of the "founding fathers" of cover shooters as many have come before it. But there's no denying the Gears trilogy set the bar for the genre with some of the tightest controls. The guy has made some quality games so it is interesting to see what he thinks of other developers. He's still a douche tho!!!
Agreed BlackTar. I do feel sorry for the kid but at the end of the day he was trying to cheat. That Kirmit guy is an absolute dick though and needs to be punished.
@ Waluigi_isunderrated: Assassins Creed 2 says hello. The first AC was an absolute borefest but the sequel was up there with the best games of last gen. I wouldn't be writing it off as a franchise just yet anyway. These reviews are worrying though. I was waiting it out until closer to release to see if it was a definite purchase. I was so close to pre ordering on the store last week when there were those leaks of the gameplay and the people that had it early were giving positive impressio...
Not only was GTA V developed solely for last gen hardware, but I think comparing it to the PP map is pointless anyway. Most of the PP map will be open countryside/desert (not saying that's a bad thing) and GTA V has a huge full blown breathing, living city in it. I don't think we'll see anything on par with that until the next GTA arrives. The detail and little touches in GTA V still blow me away today. I'm not taking anything away from the PP as its one of the games I'm m...
This game will easily break multiple millions on first hand sales. It's one of the most anticipated titles coming out this gen and I'm more than sure the devs will cover costs with a very nice profit left over. It's not just nickel and diming going on, but it splits the community too. The game won't have been out a wet day and you'll already be getting kicked from servers/playlists for not having "X" content downloaded, just after you've dropped €70 on it. DL...
I remember on SF 2 Hyper on the 360 Blanka users topped the ranked lists. I'm a Ken/Chun Li user myself (though I can't use Chun for my life in SF 4). I got into a bit of a competition with some guy on Live to see who could climb to the highest rank position. I managed to get up to 28th in the world and was only getting matched up with the top 50 players. The majority of them were Blanka players. I could hold my own against any other fighters but Blanka users would just completely wip...
I gotta say the bars did bother me at first with the Evil Within, but you just take no notice after 10 minutes. I don't think it's going to be a problem with the Order. And as you said, it would be a problem if you were still playing on a 19" screen but average tv screens now are 30+ inches.
I think the sound is a major factor in that. In Gt6 the car sounds like he's just going for a leisurely Sunday drive as opposed to the Pcars video, it really sounds like he's driving to the limit. I think sound design is one of the most important factors in racers. I don't think Gt ever really gave a good sense of speed though. The races with the least powerful cars were always a bore. Even in Driveclub where your racing the lowest class with the Golf Gti etc. it still feels like ...
They really need to keep all the players in the same session. I have yet to actually finish a heist because everyone gets separated after the setup missions which is just ridiculous. So far I've only played some of the setup missions because of that. If you start a heist it should just go through the whole thing without separating the players. Doesn't make any sense.
