With Bluray sales acounting for about 3 % of total DVD sales worldwide. And HDDVD about 2%. So total HD media sales make up about 5% of the market.
On order for either format to win you would need to achieve at least 51% DVD market share. That won't happen for years.
Most consumers are still buying DVD-9 and will be for quite some time. Get back to me in about 2012.
Yes the replays on almost all racing games use the ingame engine. And yes they use static backgrounds(fixed camera angles) usually with a blurring efect to mask it.
You just think I am ripping on GT5 and I'm not. And yes the models usually do use an upped poly count.
Why the hec do you think that the game GT5 runs at 60FPS and the replays only at 30FPS???
Maybe bc in the replays the car models are more detailed bc of more polygons.

All the footage is all of replay modes. Which has upped polys and static backgrounds.
Very little actual gameplay of either game was shown. The replays always look better than the actual game.

After these updates are released a lot of the tools aren't in place to make things work. I believe this is why EPIC is being sued by Silicon Knights.

Halo3 is definately a huge jump in the graphics department. Everything is more crisp and vibrant. Only haters deny it.
I'm sure the music, story, gameplay, and online experience will all add to make it the complete package it is hyped to be.
The jet models look fantastic. Namco is really starting to impress me these days. With Eternal Sonata and Soul Calibur4 coming also. Overall a really nice portfolio.

Three hard years of work to craft it. I was a big Halo 2 fan and to hear Bungie say they have packed the game with everything they wanted from 2 and more is really exciting.
The main thing is that I read before they are fucusing Halo3 more towards part 1 and that is sure to please the true fans of the series.
