used to freeze up the game on me. I couldn't play with it while it was installed. Perhaps the console makers learned their lesson on that one and tried not to introduce too much user modification that could end up doing real damage to the console.
You want me to site sources to prove something that wasn't even something that I brought up in the first place. It's your statement so it's your responsibility to prove the statement. Your sources state nothing about the actual benefits inherent in general purpose processing specifically. You say that there are lots of branches in game code but beyond AI/pathfinding (same basic thing) you haven't mentioned any. You're going to need to give me something more than just this because as we bo...
This really doesn't bother me as much as it does you. I can see that and I can appreciate that it does bother you in this way. I just didn't have my hopes set on this update that high so I'm not really that disappointed in it.
The more it sounds like something bad happened during the shipping of these particular consoles. Were the stock crew in the back of the store playing roller hockey in the warehouse again and happened to knock over a few crates of PS3s? Or did the shipping truck get flipped over and they still tried to make the best of the shipment?
You could do me a favor and let me know which claims of mine you think are unfounded as I did for you? Turnabout's fair play after all. If you don't want me to trivialize you and your statements then you'd better extend me a little courtesy. Otherwise, you're nothing more than another ignorant fanboy that can't be bothered to actually discuss something in a mature manner.
would be the smart thing to do IF the failure rate really is over 30% for this console. I hope Sony does the right thing by its customers IF this does turn out to be true. I would hate to see them ignore the problem or just make concessions for it.
Alright. You don't want me to trivialize you and I can certainly understand that. When I first read your statement that the 360 has 3x as much general processing power and blah blah blah I swear to you I heard the comic book guy from the Simpsons speaking. It didn't help that you started off with a huge unfounded claim about General Purpose processing power and its importance in video games. You then immediately went from 3x as much power to the 360's GPU has more power than the PS3's GPU...
It has no real place in games. Games are mathematical in nature with physics and particle effects and geometry and textures and collisions and coding/decoding and audio and data processing. I could probably go on but that would be belaboring the point. Name some things that general processing help with in "general".
While you're at it, I'd also like to hear from you how the 360's GPU has more processing power than the PS3 and how the 360 has more bandwidth than the...
I know this tactic. This is the same tactic that Liberals use when you try to explain to them that Global Warming isn't scientifically founded. They immediately mis-characterize you as an environment hater and a person that wants to see the world burn in flames and die.
But not for what you might think. While his opinion is clearly just that, he leaves no room for anyone to argue his points by declaring that anyone who disagrees with him is, by implication, a "Sony droid". He starts with a statement that anyone would be a fool to disagree with stating that Kmart can't be exclusive so long as they're still selling the PS3. But then he goes on saying that he thinks that all stores should sell every option and to let the consumer decide. He forget...
640P wasn't the selling point.
640P was something they hoped no one would figure out.
640P was something they tried to avoid in every single interview when they were asked what the resolution of the game was going to be.
If 640P was so great, like you're implying that it is, then why were they trying so hard to hide it? Why was it such big news that it wasn't even 720P?
Get your girlfriend to play R&C also. My wife never plays games and she didn't know the first thing about how to use a dual analogue stick controller but I sat her down and she just got sucked in because of how cute the creatures were and their animations and reactions and because of the humor and everything. Her desire to see more of the game pushed her into learning how to use the controller and get over her lack of eye/hand coordination.
The average read speed from a SL DVD is slightly faster than the read speed of a Blu-Ray disk. The average read speed of a DL DVD is slightly slower than the read speed of a Blu-Ray disk. The issue at hand is that most xbox 360 games require a DL DVD in order to have room for everything.
I'm sorry if you believe that rendering 640p twice is the same as 1.5 times the resolution of 720P. That's just wrong. You really should do your homework before you start posting things lik...
I know the PS3 Eye has microphones but can you use it while you play Warhawk instead of a headset?
is a great idea. In a world where IPv6 is coming out for the Internet and is already working in many areas this is definitely a possibility. IPv6 is capable of giving every man, woman, child, computer, printer, and whatever other network device you want an individual and unique address. The game looks for updates before you can play the game so it's possible that they could implement this for future cards and just make the game backwards compatible with the starter deck.
That would be too expensive to manufacture.

pretty decent price too if you ask me.

Here it is again but for a few bucks cheaper:

and this site has more detailed information.
I can not see any difference between the two. The developer did an excellent job on this game in making them look exactly alike.
