Holy f*ck. Can you imagine a Final Fantasy game that looks that good? I didn't notice any frame drops and its not coming out for 6 more month! If the AI is good this game is going to be amazing. The only thing I'm somewhat dissapointed with is it doesnt look like you can completely destroy the pillars with gunfire and the environments dont look completely destructable.
The only sure fire thing that sony and ms fanboys can agree on is that the wii is lame.

we are already hearing about HS2. They probably had to meet a deadline with Sony and were cut short but HS2 is probably ready to go depending on how the first one does.
If I released a game that was only 6 hours long I wouldn't send it to game publishers before it was released to the public.

Its funny. Me and a buddy camped out to get the ps3 for 17 hours. Our plan was to sell them. We pooled our assets, bought two. Tried selling both. Sold one for 1600, sold the other on ebay for 1400, but got greedy and ended up getting burned. I wanted one anyways so I bought out my friend.

Is the number of games owned per console owner. Thats most likely what developers are more interested in. My 70 year old great uncle just bought a ps3 solely as a bluray player for his new ~60" 1080p screen. He definately will not be playing video games. My impression is that the people where he bought the TV persuaded him to grab the ps3 as they believe bluray is winning the war. I should ask him where he got it. I'm guessing Future Shop but could be wrong.
graphics are quantitative, while gameplay is qualatative. Graphics have increased in quality immensely over the span of my life, while gameplay hasn't.
Better graphics are just expected now. Better gameplay is hoped for but not really expected. Remember how awesome bullet time was the first time you used it? Remember slowing / rewinding time in Prince of Persia? What about the combat system in KOTR? How about the first time you ever played a FF game (assuming your an RPG fan)?

For the ps3 and its pretty sweet looking. It doesnt have as many effects as the PC versions but it looks really really good in HD. The most prominant effects are like falling rectangles that kind of dance to the music and mountain range creation that seems to mimic the sound bars.
If xbox360 got all the games ps3 has and ps3 got none game over! Same vice versa! Another douchebag writer with no market sense. Its games/franchises like GTA, God of War, FF, MGS, ResEvil, GT that the ps2 dominated all other consoles last gen. Its also the reason ps2 is still selling so much today... the games.

He didn't mention music, pictures. He didn't compare bluray functionality to HD DVD. He couldn't get the thing to stream correctly... It seriously took me 10 minutes to figure out how to do it using windows media player, with a simple google search.

Graphics look good, I want to see the particle effects that people have been hyping. Anyone have a screen shot? The only thing that could hurt the graphics would be the framerate. If they keep the framerate solid this game is worth buying day one for the eye candy alone.
