Thats just gaming. And movies and restaurants and music. Sometimes you don't agree. Reviews I've read have all been pretty honest about what to expect. I, for one an totally enjoying the light hearted game. Worrying odds cool, graphics are good, music it's amazing. Battle system doesn't bother me at all. I need games like this from time to time
Only Wii U still retains that option, hence the small storage. I think we are in a minority that value the ability to play without installing. Discs are barely more than a download key anymore
I agree as well. I wish that I had mario kart 8 digital. My lazy self might still be playing it regularly.
What I find more important in the article is the amoumt and frequency of purchases. They even suggest spreading out releases more to gain more sales. I'm all for that
At least you tried it. I can respect that
People need to stop looking for something to be offended by.
Gimmicks are what drives this industry and most others. Sometimes they work out and sometimes they don't. But they always lead to overall better products long term.
Really strong article. All of us here should take notice. Actual constructive criticism.
Very well said. Graphics and performance are being pushed way beyond what is necessary at this point to fully enjoy the game. Although I can performance being the focus as mobile gaming gets more and more sophisticated. What happened when home consoles and PCs began to outperform arcade cabinets. Let's hope this doesn't happen with console gaming. I don't think it will, but I agree that innovation needs to come in something besides graphical fidelity.
Why exactly is it a good thing to keep a console alive if, as you say, "most" won't be buying games.
After march 2017, homebrew all you want. Wii u doesn't die until then. There was just a major release and there will be another big one with zelda. Not dead yet.
Sorry, but it is really dumb to justify by saying a few more might sell. They missed out on the good games, but modding will suddenly make the purchase worth it. Those would be poor excuses for gamers indeed.
I don't see them buying games legally
You know the thing called a eula that we all skip past and don't read? It speaks of this very thing. Not going to stop anyone but wanted to mention it.
Goldeneye was remade. And done well. Perhaps the author missed it.
Crimsonwing. I think you missed the point of the article and got sidetracked. If you bought ANY of the supposed shovelware in quantity, then you have no one to blam but yourself. You just have poor judgement of games. Maybe read reviews next time
You hope that consoles never move that much product? Why?
If true, this gives them an option to lower the price if sales don't turn out to have longevity.
And it's not up to Nintendo to bring out new products. people here bashing nintendo, but not calling out other manufacturers for never really trying to move the industry forward. All manufacturers need to be trying something new, or the industry will lose to mobile forever. VR is Sony trying, but it won't move big #s like the article is talking about.
Not as long as people are so afraid of change and they are addicted to their phones.
PC is not a console. there is a very large number of configurations, graphics cards, cpus, memory, keyboards, etc. there are only 3 console manufacturers and built to specific specs that work for that entire console generation. That is the strength of the console market. That's like comparing off the line cars to the tuner market. no way to compare these, nor should they be.
I guess these are being compared because arkham city on Wii U was the best looking version until now. Stop trying to make this into a console war topic.
