Pokemon is a huge part of the Nintendo handheld success over the years. It's also, arguably, part of what held back the home console sales. A good pokemon game on Wii U might have made a difference. Not launching with it would allow some other games to have their way. I imagine there are some devs that are concerned that BOTW will hold sales of other games back at launch if available. I think if not available at launch, but available for Wii U, I'll just get on Wii U version and get the switch after I'm done playing.

I can't believe people that assumed this wouldn't be the case and paid more than $60 on ebay, or are complaining about stock. Remember, Nintendo thought the Wii U would be ultra successful too. Nothing wrong with them testing the waters first. Although, it would have been interesting to see what pre-orders would have been if that were offered.

I guess that's true, but compared to what? Home consoles, smartphones? There really isn't anything like the 3ds and there are tons of exclusive games not available anywhere else.
If someone wasn't an early adopter of the 3ds, then it might be safe to assume they wouldn't for the switch either. There aren't exactly any confirmed games for the switch launch yet, but plenty of 3ds games to play.

For Nintendo, yes. They have moved on to the 9th gen. For Sony/MS, 8th gen is being kept alive by their half gen upgrades. Both Sony and MS have stated this is the case. It is entirely possible, that Nintendo has the solo 9th gen console if the PS4 Pro and Xbox Scorprio extend the current gen long enough, say another 5 years, that PS5 Xboxtwo will essentially be 10th gen. with Nintendo coming in another 5 years from now with their 10th gen machine. If the screen is only 720p, then why would anyone expect higher resolution with the screen on.
Perhaps a combination of battery and heating. It's not uncommon for devices to be brighter when plugged in. Perhaps they is an additional fan pre something in the dock.

This was the first game in years that I wanted to 100%. If anyone likes lego games and/or open world games, this is a great choice.
