Everything I've heard about horizon makes me believe it's going to be huge. Internal reviews are extremely positive and ppl that have played it say it's going to be a real treat. Obviously RDR2 will be phenomenal, some devs just make that a given and R* is one of them imo. I also think NieR will surprise a lot of ppl along with Nioh, and clearly P5 which is already out in Japan is going to be amazing in the west as well.
Oh man, TLOU is the only game that got me close to shedding tears. Especially that damn opening!
Same here, sad part is a lot of games that I wanna play but haven't had the time to, I'll probably never get to play due to other games constantly releasing throughout the year. I haven't had a true drought yet that allowed me to clear a couple games off my backlog. I just need a month to beat TLG and Dishonored 2 lol. I got GR2 coming this month, Nioh, For Honor, and then Horizon in feb. Nier in March, and P5 in April. I fear I may never play TLG or Dishonored 2 if this continues...
Nah I'm pretty sure you were on almost every negative Gears review saying how it doesn't deserve a bad score. QB was alright it just failed to make a lasting impression I think, I don't think it was as bad as some make it out to be but it's certainly not the best Action adventure game this year, but hey, to each his own.

This and the Switch in one year? It's going to be a wild ride! I think Forza and some new ip will be shown off at E3 running on Scorpio, and jaws will hit the floor.
Horizon for me cause it's right around the corner, followed closely by Nier, GR2, Nioh, and P5. Can't believe I'll get to play these games in the first 4 months of the year.

Unfortunately ppl have been doing this for years, a game they dislike has critical acclaim and they decide to go to war over it, posting negative opinions across every article the games featured in.
Yeah the environmental storytelling in the game told a better story than the main storyline imo. The history between the pirates and what unfolded that ultimately lead to Avery and Tew trying to take the treasure for themselves was fascinating. Some of the coolest scenes in video games was finding libertalia, walking into the treasury building and seeing "thief" written on the pictures, and stumbling upon the dinner table with all the dead pirates. Amazing game!
GOTY votes were tough this year, I think it really came down to Overwatch and UC4 though. And honestly it depends on your preference as a gamer to which one wins, you can't really say one games better than the other. Overwatch took the industry by storm last year and really provided hours of fun, but it lacked the content for me to give it my GOTY. The hate this game receives over on GAF is astonishing. The vocal minority over there seem like the majority cause the same ppl come around to bash the game every time a new thread is made for UC4. I guess it's cool these days to go against the grain and say you dislike something revered and enjoyed by millions. I'm going to say it's a bunch of fanboys trying to discredit the game, is it perfect, no. But it certainly is one of the best games this year if not the generation.
I never even realized that the girl in the poster from UC4 is pregnant. I'm confident it will at least be a worthwhile one. Every time I hear GG talking about this game theyre always talking about how confident they are in the story they're going to tell. I think it will be surprisingly good.
Apparently it's reviewing well internally which is great news considering those mock reviews are often more harsh than actual ones. Everything I've seen and heard has sold me on this game, I hope there's dungeons like most open world RPGs, and I feel comfortable that there will be after watching John Gonzalez at the PSX panel.

Looks like we can expect Detroit and Dreams in 2017, awesome. That should put GoW and Days Gone in 2018, maybe Spider-Man as well.
So far I'd give it an 8.5, pacings a little slow and the side quest do get annoying and repetitive. But considering this is my first FF game, I'm quite enjoying the combat system and the dungeons are pretty awesome.
