I remember a mod that was on some counter strike servers. An anti-camper mod. Basically, if you stayed in a spot too long, a camp meter would appear and start increasing (10%.....20%...) and when it hit 100%, your health would start to decrease 10% each second (and this is counter strike, no health regen). Forced you to keep moving and only momentarily ambush people.

I liked it lol.

Exactly, cards will ALWAYS work 100% unless it is bottlenecked by other parts of you computer.

Meaning if you lower resolution and your CPU can keep up, your GPU will still work 100% hard but instead get 120 FPS instead of 60FPS.

6870 is a good card heat wise though, runs pretty cool for a higher end card.

In all seriousness, what was buggy? I don't remember the game being particularly glitchy at all.

Um, they could do what they are doing now, AND let others run their own servers unranked....That way you can go to official EA servers for no cheating worries and what not, and then still have unranked player servers that can have custom maps, mods, all sorts of settings and no fear of EA shutting down the game in the future.

It's about control/money :(

This is bullshit:

"Graphics: 512 MB GFX with 4.0 Pixel shader"

This cannot be the minimum. Both the PS3 and Xbox have GPUs only capable of 3.0 pixel shader (which is per DX9/OpenGL 2.0 API). EDIT - So my point is ME3 uses UE3 and it supports DX9/ Pixel shader 3.0. It makes no sense.

Not only that, but 4.0 PS is for DX10, so the game requires DX10 video card/win vista/7, yet it says winXP?

It conflicts with itself. ...

Well your card is pretty dang good, but its not super high end. It's currently selling for around 175 bucks.

What resolution are you trying to play at and what game/settings? Pretty hard to make that card play a game any slower than 30FPS.

And the point to PC gaming is no online service to worry about, XBL/PSN go down, no games. Almost all games on PC run outside a service, they are "immortal". Also, games these days set to LOW settings is still...

Dissapointing. I don't like how MP games these days aren't "allowed" to be played on your own machine. The servers must be controlled by EA.

"The game server machines themselves will be run by a number of Ranked Server Provider (RSP) companies. We do not allow other companies to run game servers, or for other people to run game servers from home."

Such a shame that a great game like BF3, especially being a PC series, now lacks one ...

@Jake_Butler

I am referring to the "2x" part. MLAA doesn't take samples. That is MSAA - MULTI SAMPLING AA.

It's like talking bout an electric motor having 2 cylinders.....

Do you even know what 2x and 4x actually means?

5410d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

2x MLAA? Huh? MLAA doesn't take samples like MSAA or other AA techniques...it does edge detection.

:/

@Criminal

It looks like maxing BF3 with DX11 @ 1080P @ 30 FPS is pretty damn cheap:

http://gamegpu.ru/Action-/-...

If you scroll to the benchmarks you can see even a older 460 GTX getting an average of 30 FPS at DX11, High quality, 1080P. And this is Alpha too.

I am betting you could max BF3 on PC @ 30FPS for 600 bucks.

Wow, I just took a peak at that DF article. How the hell they getting such horrible performance? Geeze

Lol, Deus Ex article with dev about xbox and disc space....

And you bring up scratch resistant?

Reminds me of Ralph in the Simpsons saying random shit.

I wonder why PS3 would have more space than the PC version? Especially if the PC version has much larger textures and DX11 displacement map textures...

Padding maybe? I heard they do that to improve read times on BR. I don't know what else it could be. Got a source on those sizes?

5410d ago 5 agree0 disagreeView comment

Well it was silly of him to bring up textures when talking about discs. The consoles have low resolution textures compared to PC because they only have 512MB of ram, not because of Disc space.

Hmmm, nice message. But Sony and MS and Nintendo loved closed systems, it rakes in much more money.

Great, HL3 slips into 2014...

Thanks.

There is pop-in on KZ3 and UC2 but people act like it doesn't. Practically every game has pop-in, especially games with very open environments. Pop-in is trying to put more textures in the game than you have RAM for, practically all engines do this as a way to maximize quality of textures with only 512MB.

@DA_SHREDDER

Xbox 1 to xbox 360 was 64MB to 512MB, that is 10 times more memory. PS2 to PS3 was 32MB to 512MB which is 20 times more...

The gap between generations is longer than ever and you think only 4 times as much memory is going to cut it????

If the next xbox/PS4 comes out in late 2012/2013, 2GB of memory will look like a joke by then.

I love this. You think you could beat some with a mouse and KB who uses no aim assist but you pay a console game with aim assist and think you will own?

LOL.

PS, I own xbox/ps3/PC

It's more about MS and Sony wanting their networks not to work together for a huge amount of reasons.

MS would have to depend on Sony to discipline players on PS3's and vice versa. XBL and PSN have similar but different online TOS's. Who will enforce what?
