I think more than anything people are just upset that she seems to be the one responsible for turning EVERY character in Dragon Age bisexual. Which personally doesn't upset me, per se, but at the same time it doesn't make much sense contextually.
In fact it DOES make the writing team seem a little fanfic-y and amateurish.
For what it's worth, I agree with you. I have no problem with the fact that some of his games seem to veer more towards the "cinema" category, but I honestly just don't think he's that good a writer.
The original MGS is, ironically, one of my favorite games ever, but it's gotten to the point that his stories are comically melodramatic and convoluted...nevermind the rampant poop jokes and TnA.

THAT is very true. The whole aesthetic needs to change drastically. SWTOR was reasonably fun through my first level 50, but the story only did so much.
Sure, it's a passable story for an MMORPG, but given the strict, WoW-inspired structure of the modern day MMORPG, developers are never quite going to pave over the fact that players are operating in a very static world almost completely free of any player-related influence...unless things...

I just kind of wish the emphasis would shift away from "graphics" and more towards "technology." I mean think about things like AI and physics. There are LESS than a handful of games out there that utilize AI as successfully as Halo did over ten years ago. And on the physics front, there are games like GTA4 that have made concerted efforts to move the technology forward, and yet 90% of the time we're still stuck with the archaic, floaty, Havok-powered physics we've...
I agree, it was pretty ugly. Not only were things blurry and ridiculously pixelated, but it seems to run pretty consistently at ~15fps.
It's a little sad, really. Given the system's library, the 3DS is obviously capable of much more than this.

I think it's safe to say that a "fan" becomes a "fanboy" when he or she doesn't even want OTHER people to be excited for a game that they themselves have developed a premature bias towards...and all for a game that isn't even out.

This seems like sort of a backwards statement. He seems to be referring specifically to MMO's, which I think most agree is not "the future" of gaming. It's just a single aspect of the market, as it has always been.

I support the cause, but as long as people are still comfortable buying Call of Duty for the millionth time, publishers will be the creativity stifling, greedy sons-of-bitches that they've always been.
Perhaps the one positive aspect to glean from this whole handheld "debate" is that it seems to have united the 3DS and Vita crowd together under a common banner.
