You are correct. Not sure how you received 2 disagrees.
Makes sense. Ultimately one could say that the Scorpio is what you get if you cant go balls out with your PC building budget. I personally am not a fan of Windows 10 so I will probably pick up the Scorpio, plus it'd be nice to see my large 360 library upscaled.
This is a response to a comment similar to yours on another site:
"He forgot to mention there is a DirectX12 native command processor inside Scorpio that assumes the place of the CPU to dispatch all the hundreds of thousands of draw calls to the GPU. The CPU now will need to do at most 11 calls to render a change on screen. That's an unprecedent optimization in hardware that can whipe away the CPU bottlenecks on current games."
DLC used to be called an expansion pack.
While gaming today is better in terms of technology, I definitely feel that its downside is completely related to the way the entire industry is so corporate now. So much so that publishers would rather release a game in a broken state and then patch it later simply because they can get away with it.
MS came with the idea for the online marketplace and DLC. I can clearly remember Robbie Bach at the time during the introduction of the concept at E3 asking the audience to imagine bein...
I totally agree. Easily my game of the year so far and I don't expect it to be bumped from that spot. The debate between it and Zelda is endless and ultimately based on personal opinion but my opinion is if Zelda gets a 10 this should be right there with it. Games like Horizon keep me playing video games and Im definitely a senior in this hobby. Long live it!!
"Critics are the least biased of groups"
Are you sure about that? Their biased at times is displayed stronger than anything.
Exactly. Why the hell would they not have a real damn dock. I mean a dock that actually had some real hardware in it that would cause the Switch to be able to play at the minimum 1080p/60 fps. That's the least they could've done! God forbid I ask for 4K/30fps. They way Nintendo is going that wont happen until 8K is commercially adopted on a wide scale.
I hate to say it but I actually agree, I want them to fail. Ive owned every console and mostly every handheld they've released. I've drawn the line at the Switch. I wanted it to be awesome and when they revealed it I wasn't impressed at all. Another Nintendo system with no power is how I saw it. Nintendo makes some of the greatest games within the industry but why they'd limit themselves with weak console power, one of the biggest complaints gamers have against their last 2 sy...
Weak Console - FACT
lol, I also went through for before the MS customer support agent hung up in my face because I would not accept that they wouldn't replace it due to being outside warranty even though every replacement was a dud. Bad memories for sure. 3 days later they announced the 3 year warranty.
I believe that the 10 out of 10 reviews should have come from a gameplay point of view more than anything. Every point you just hit on is a technical flaw outside of art style and I agree with you. I have both games and I stated before in the comments section that I started Horizon first. Once Zelda arrived I began it after being in to Horizon 20 hours. Needless to say once Zelda loaded and began I immediately noticed the lackluster visuals in comparison to Horizon. I stated before that I cut...
More like 9 minutes of truth.
I have both games and I made the mistake of starting Horizon first. Once Zelda arrived I'd already put in around 20 hours into Horizon. I was excited to play Zelda which I have for the WiiU and popped into the console to see what all the hype was about. Honestly, I played for about 30 minutes. Im playing on a 48 inch screen so instantly the lack of Anti Aliasing stood out. I am a PC gamer by default but I own all consoles as well so Im aware of what takes place visually when switching bet...
and that is the bottom line. I've been gaming forever. No matter how much I loved certain consoles if they did not have certain parameters in place they died.
I totally agree. It's funny to me how those who defend the Switch focus on the console itself being "innovative" and it is to a certain degree, but whats not innovative are the actual 1st party games. There all repeats. Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart, Splatoon 2 etc. Dont get me wrong, I love those games but does no one see that their claim of coming with innovation has applied solely to their hardware for the last 2 console generations while the actual games themselves are still for ...
I think he's saying that Nintendo is on the extreme opposite side of the innovation fence. They've "innovated" with their last 3 consoles and between those last 3 there has been a very small increase in actual system power, which is the primary complaint that gamers have had for awhile now. While MS and SOny may need to increase their innovation efforts and maybe dial back on the powerful console creation, Nintendo is on the flip side of that. They need to stop obsessing wit...
This right here. Best possible answer. It's been the same thing for the last 3 console releases. Mario, Mario Kart, Smash Bros., Zelda. Those four titles alone have proven that the public is willing to buy an underpowered overpriced console. It's either viewed as a fools machine or it's viewed as the go to system for stellar 1st party titles. It's a matter of taste. I always say, Nintendo is the only game developer I know of that releases an entirely new console to accompany t...
Because dreams dont come true, lol.
If MS can manage to get a minimum of 3 exclusive AAA titles they'd be well on the road to recovery. Its the only thing standing in their way. The X1 has had its power deficit in comparison to PS4 but its most defining weakness is no exclusives in the 2nd half of its lifespan. Sony has always had 1 to 2 must have titles in their console launches. Then you have to wait for around 2 years minimum and suddenly you're hit with 2 to 4 must haves out of their own stable not to mention whatev...
