I didnt play the game but watched it being played by those demoing it and attendees. I think the article is correct. I was underwhelmed at how similar it was outside of the visuals to other Spiderman games. I came expecting something along the level of what the E3 2017 trailer showed but the gameplay in the demo was standard beat em up style gameplay, nothing to make me say WOW! which was surprising considering how long its been and who the creator is.
They just got through doing that!
That's exactly how I feel about their games. Not horrible but really repetitive content wise. Another reason why I quickly fell off the Assasins Creed hay-filled wagon.

I worked for various developers and can tell you that all of them across the board decided what resolution and graphical features they'd implement based off of the power of the console. I'm right there with you. It sucks having to wait to purchase a game you want day one but it's worth it. Games after a year are always half the price and sometimes months after release. I used to be a day one guy especially for MP games but since not so micro MTs, "Season Passes", and lootboxes have become prevalent I've bowed out. I'll wait for the sale.

I hate to say it but this is exactly why I did not purchase a Switch. I feel like a burned WiiU owner, a burned Wii owner, a barely satisfied Gamecube owner, and a fairly satisfied N64 owner.
