It's not so much a question of whether they work but more so if what they do warrants 15 million. Especially when average Joe makes 48000 annually. The gap is disturbing.
You are absolutely correct. If you want me to demo your game as a dev there is no justification outside of being at a trade show such as E3 in limiting the time a player can get a decent feel for what your game has to offer. If a person cant purchase your game it is a great incentive for them to play the demo until they can purchase the whole game. It keeps the game on the players mind. Its the "One time" 30 minute tease that classifies it as a cash grab not the actual act of releasing a free demo. Its clearly a bait-em in and make-em starve tactic.
And I remember the time when gamer's collectively had enough sense to know when a certain practice was not beneficial to them. Dummy's actually defending that BS.
Ive bought at least 7 games from them for Steam and have never had any issues. Not saying they don't exist but so far so good.

The feel of part 1 was so on point. I picked up the game without any anticipation and it hooked me once I leveled up to 4. Great feel and great game. Part 2 lost that. Hopefully part 3 can recapture it.

I agree with both of you but more so with sawoosevens. A crash unfortunately would hurt the little guy but the little guy on the consumer end is now being hurt with the path the industry is looking to take. Its definitely time for a wake up call. Younger gamers are buying into money draining gaming models while older gamers are cringing. For me personally, it's good to see BFV struggling. Companies are so beholden to shareholders today that they take the actual consumer for granted.
And thats mostly always the case with these publishers who skip Steam. Im one who refuses to purchase a game if its not on one of the current crop of clients I have. I already have Steam, Origin, Uplay, Destiny 2s client, and Rockstars crap for GTA 5. I dont need another client. Im probably forgettiing one. Anyway, Im willing to wait. Its too bad cause I wanted to play the game, oh well.

I totally agree with what you're saying and I laugh at all of the downvotes you received. The only explanation for those is youth.
