@Sono421
Thank you, my thoughts exactly!!
Well said.
Im old as well MegaGirl, grew up with a Commodore 64, Intellivision, and the Atari 2600. But, I dont think "graphics this days kind of look fine" in general. I think graphics are completely relative to what a gamer can afford and what they are exposed to as well as what they have access to. I think people in general tend to become excited about technology that they feel they have realistic access to upon it's release. I keep seeing people comment on 4K not being a priority, not ...
@LP-Eleven
donthate is basically saying anything on any other console is "cutting edge" hardware wise in comparison to Nintendo.
Kratos and Ellie??! Touche! Gentlemen, touche! heh
Sony fanboys have had nightmares of Master Chief teabaggin them into oblivion for a long time now, of course Sony is not going to approve crossplay, lol.
They're only talking about PS5 to prevent potential dissenters toward the One X. Classic Sony pre-hype. They did it to the Dreamcast once it launched with the PS2 and they did the same thing to the 360 and its launch with the PS3. I worked in a Gamestop during these years and witnessed Sony fans trade in their present console hardware and games solely based off of the announcement of the PS2 and PS3 and Sony is aware of this. History does nothing but repeat itself in the games industry.
Why is it that anytime someone points out the Switchs lack of power they're accused of being a "graphics whore" or "PC elitsist"? The Switch on a hardware level is weak. End of story. On a software level they are strong out the gate due to timeless classic Nintendo 1st party franchises. Those franchise titles have been played time and time again for over 30+ years now. Granted they have evolved from iteration to iteration of each console successor. Some are tired of t...
I thought both sides put on an ok but not amazing presentation. Sony had more of the same although it was quality, and MS failed to deliver any mind blowing excusives but showed off the potential of their new beast, though they could've have done more to impress. Ultimately the only thing that's really sticking out in my mind is a multiplatform title and that is Anthem. Anthem is my E3 2017 reason to continue in this hobby.
@Shadowlee
Im focusing on 1st party titles that the Xbox crowd knew would be coming, outside of Dead Rising 3. Not saying that state of decay 2, ori 2, forza 7, anthem, battlegrounds, sea of thieves wouldn't be fun or interesting but instead that rainslackers point that @ $500 this is definitely a beauty is in the eye of the beholder type situation. Plus all of those games can be played on the PC or an existing XB1. I see the console appealing more to a person who does ...
They bought it because of the hope that SOny would deliver sequels to some of their most beloved franchises, which they did and are doing and they bought it because although the power margin was small it was still the most powerful console that released at $399 instead of the marginally weaker Xbox One which debuted at $499.
The Nintendo Switch proves your point.
Its not that its so worst than the prior consoles because it really isn't. It's better in every way but the timing is horrible. It's coming "after the fact". Millions have purchased the original unit and millions more have purchased the second iteration released. Throughout both of those releases the primary complaint has been no original exclusive killer apps being brought to the table. Too much Forza, Gears, and Halo. Hardware wise the original iteration of the Xbox On...
I hate to say it but Sony has a real opportunity to solidify their already entrenched mindshare. MS made it easy. 2 killer apps will give them the win and it'll most likely be no less than 3 killer apps.
You actually make a good point. At launch they had exclusivley Forza 5, Dead Rising 3, Halo 5 Guardians, Gears of War 4, Crimson Dragon, Killer Instinct, and Ryse: Son of Rome coming out of their first party lineup. Not to mention the 3rd party titles day one as well, Madden, NBA 2K, Call of Duty, Battelfield 4 etc.
My first tweak would be stronger hardware.
lol, funny. We will see wont we.
That would be them releasing what I really wanted in the first place. A Nintendo system with power.
Pretty much the minimum for every hard core PC gamers for the last 8 to 10 years.
You are correct. The One X when its released will already be far behind a hardcore gaming PC, it already is. For a console to be remotely anywhere near what an uber rig can do it would have to debut at $1000, minimum. The OneX just sets a new standard in power for a console and that is it.
