None of the other contenders match Halo's replayability or reach the level of Halo 3's multiplayer excellence.
Halo 3 is a deep, rich, gaming experience. It is NOT a "one night stand" like so many others. It will be played for years, long after the others are forgotten.

Psychonauts runs great on my Elite; it is an awesome game. A friend already has downloaded Crimson Skies and says it runs great as well.
I have no complaints at all. In fact, I like the idea of downloads. I downloaded a 2nd copy of Psychonauts onto my other 360 using my same profile. Just as with arcade games, once you buy it, you own it.
Regarding the screens, I'll wait for the finished product. As of now I don't like either. There is too much blur and too few crisp textures---but that IS expected since it IS in ALPHA stage.
I expect the finished product to really shine, no pun intended. I do like the dark approach though. But really, at this point neither screens impress---objectively speaking.
You DO have to work for your kills in H3. And I LOVE the custom games and custom maps options that FORGE brings.

I STILL play it... the game was far more than I expected. It delivered BIG!
4-player co-op, new vehicles, new and useful weapons, huge variations in difficulty (try Legendary with all SKULLS activated!!!), Forge, auto-record game movies, Web site integration with stats tracking, game saves and photo/movie uploads----and fantastic multiplayer gameplay.

I've been to Road America many times; it's one of my favorite tracks. I loved it in Forza 1 and was disappointed not to find it in Forza 2. I'm glad to see it finally make it, even as a download.
The Ferarri FXX is most certainly a beast of a car. I've just unlocked it in PGR4. It will be a fantastic addition to Forza's awesome stable of performance cars.
We hear about the 900+ cars of the final version of GT5 but what many don't realize is that Forza 2, with its...
Spikey-haired fem-boys not allowed---at least not in the game.
Seriously, this game looks good. I can't wait to play it.
It's a damned addictive game. Free too! Personally I love Xbox Live Arcade. Pool, Poker and Uno are great multiplayer games. Others are fantastic single player diversions (addictions?).
All in all, I own 36 Arcade games. I'll add Small Arms tomorrow. The others, I own already.
Players who waited for the credits to scroll by and end were treated to the real ending of Halo 3.
In the pre-credits 'ending' players saw a memorial service for the fallen hero of Humanities victory in the war against the Covenant and the Flood.
On the wall where photos and medals of the deceased were displayed, the number '117' was scratched into the wall's surface. Master Chief Petty Officer John was also known as SPARTAN 117, a SPARTAN II Super Soldier for th...
The store where I bought my Elite (last one left) was out of 360's but had a shelf full of PS3s. I had to go to Wal-Mart to get my 360 Pro. There were only two 360s left while there were plenty of PS3s to be had.
Software? Halo 3 was sold out at both locations.
With new Elite, I'll be able to download all the Xbox 1 games I want (Psychconauts, Fable & Crimson Skies for starters) as well as tv movies and cable shows after the Fall update.
With t...
And my family and friends too!
Of course there are common libraries and shared APIs: both (Xbox/PC) are Microsoft platforms.
That's PRECISELY what XNA was founded on: Microsoft XNA is composed of industry-leading software, services, resources, and communities focused on enabling game developers to be successful on Microsoft gaming platforms.

Microsoft began developing a unified set of software development tools about the same time it started planning the Xbox 360. MS knew that next-gen game development cycles needed to be kept as short as possible for developers to attain profitability.
The XNA Toolkit allows simultaneous Xbox 360/PC game development with unified coding and resource management abilities.
That is why there are so many Xbox/PC games released at the same time.
And why man...
I downloaded Shivering Isles from Xbox LIVE months ago.
Take your time and do some research before posting; you'll save yourself from looking idiotic.
This quote is a peach: "Sony provides you with the same services as XBOX live and at no cost."
It proves one of two things and perhaps even both:
#1 You are painfully uninformed, shamelessly misinformed or dangerously delusional
#2 You are a pathetic liar
If you wish to spend time debating the pros and cons of the various game consoles and services try sticking to facts. It makes for better conversation and prevents you fr...
Your only attempt at rebuttal was to whine about my appropriate response to your flammatory and incorrect assertions. You cry about your reputation but don't hesitate to impugn Microsoft, Xbox Live and the 360.
I have a number of Japanese gamers on my friends list; gamers I met while playing games such as Forza 2, Test Drive Underground, PGR 3&4----and, Halo 3.
I'll say this: All the Japanese gamers I've met on LIVE are HARDCORE, no-holds barred competitors.
Just as elsewhere in the world, Japanese Xbox 360 owners buy lots of games. The Japanese attach rate for the 360 is excellent.
It will be played for years, long after the others are forgotten.
