What the author of the article is obviously oblivious to is that Cliffy B fully explained the changes in weapon balancing and map layouts with respect to eliminating "shotty spammers" and campers. The efforts was aimed at making Gears 2 more competitive in rewarding skill rather than over-use of cheap weapons and tactics.

Additionally the article's author's gripe about health regeneration was also addressed by Cliffy B where he stated that maintaining the intensity du...

Look, I appreciate your affection for R2 and loyalty to Sony, but to say that R2 has more features and greater play value than Halo is wrong.

Its Halo's excellent play value that keeps it near the top in games played as ranked on Xbox Live more than a year after its release. Halo 3's feature set allows near limitless variants and difficulty levels.

Proof? All that need be done is to look at Halo 3's daily game multi-player game stats:

That's a very astute observation and a correct one at that.

I remember reading several interviews back when Microsft was cutting Bungie's parental strings. Microsoft maintained that they believed that too close of a relationship with developers, as Bungie had with Microsoft, brought the strong possibility of too much oversight thereby stilting creative development from gemerally, fiercefully independent creative minds. No need for management types, or worse still accountants, t...

A few corrections: "a core," not "acore;" "assign," and not "asign."

Any others, well, let 'em fester.

I hate "premature e-post-ulation!"

Don't they have a cream for that?

For some---not all,---it's the same old sob story. There is always some excuse or gripe. For others---the majority---it's simply a learning curve; an adjustment in strategies if you will.

Roll with it.

I've been playing Horde with acore group of friends and select invites on Xbox Live Party Mode with those waiting to join chatting along while playing other games. Live's Party Mode ROCKS!

Horde is awesome fun when you adjust strategies and asign dut...

You have plenty of time.

Come on, please! For your own sake take some time to consider your posts. As others have already pointed out, you are excluding significant market---and peoples---from your calculations.

Japan numbers do not include, logically, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong not to mention the entirety of the rest of Asian sales e.g. India et al.

And then we have Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania.

How about the Ara...

I do not visit this site as frequently as I once did, mainly due to the proliferation of too many poor quality articles being approved and posted as well as the outright hatred and bias exhibited by a number of poster when replying to articles.

I was unaware of a rule restricting the use name of the group self-identified as the Sony Defense Force.

Kind like they're there, but we won't mention them. I won't, in the future as I recognize the right of a private ent...

It's okay; no offense taken.

A bit more levity and a lot less angst, from posters, would help this site immensely.

It is a shame that the very mention of an opinion, satirical response, or flat-out disagreement challenging the "group-think" prevalent here at N4G sends so many to quail, quivering in a darkened cornered while inciting others to lash out in a foaming-spittle rage.

Lighten up! This senseless console warfare is ridiculous! It ...

The point I made---clearly---is that success is measured by sales over time. In the example of MGS4, its sales are fading rather quickly for such an anticipated title.

MGS4 delivered for its fanbase but it does not have the lasting appeal of other titles.

... to call names and deny facts. A good game, what constitutes a good game, has little to do with its technical aspects. Believing so is patently false.

Simply put: a "good game," a great game, is determined by the enjoyment it delivers to the broadest spectrum of its potential audience. And yes, once again, this IS reflected in sales.

Greatness is measured by success. How can it be otherwise?

Just because a given game can claim technica...

Having savagely chewed his finernails down to the first joint on each of his fingers and thumbs, resulting in bloody stumps (authorities attribute this to the resulting poor feces-penmanship), and prolonged bouts of banging his head against the padded walls, resulting in the stuffing flying over the room and covering the floor (the source of ...

You said: "SCORE IS KEPT BY SALES" LMAO Classic," -- When considering life-time sales, it most certainly IS! To think otherwise is simply denial.

Over an extended period of time, a product that continues to sell well has been judged by the consumer to be a superior product. It's a basic fact.

With much respect for MGS4, it is false to think that it will ever reach Halo 3's sales figures. MGS4 will not even get close. It's drop-off rate is proof. ...

Repost with added commentary:

Metacritic compiled scores, regardless how many tallied, are still subjective and carry little weight in actual game value.

Take for example Konami's tour-de-force MGS4. Great ratings on Metacritic but how was it received? Remember, this is the game you claim is the "most epic game of the year!" Let's see how it fared in the real world, where wallets count got more than any "game critic" score:

My wife watches Ellen after work each day. I can see our livingroom TV from my office. Ellen gives a great deal of merchandise to her audience members. And yes, she gives away quite a few Xbox 360s; this is NOT the first time she gave away 360 game consoles.

The tie-in for the show mentioned was the pink 360 controller that is linked to a fundraising promotion for breast cancer. MS is donating a portion of the pink 360 controller sales to breast cancer research and patient sup...
