PC is only next gen when developers say it is. The PC has had the hardware for some time now, it's just that it's not that easy to pump millions into producing a game for that current tech that not a lot of people are going to afford. When top of the line PC hardware that has surpassed the consoles by at least a genaration becomes readily affordable and standard in most PC's to date, then that is usually the rule of thumb for devs to start pushing out new engines on the PC. Don...
Spot on.
The other thing people forget is that even though it is older tech, it can often take a few years to get to grips with that tech and to take it to it's limit. This is the beauty of consoles and why they are so viable for developers. Every couple of years into a console's cycle, the PC releases a game the just so happens to look a full generation ahead of what the consoles can do. It's just now that GPU tech is becoming so complicated to work on, that this...
If Kojima could suck himself off, he would.
Everyone's an artist these days.
It's not the rest of the demo shown. Look at the environment. It's completely different. This screen looks like the setting is in America or Europe somewhere.
What's next? KZ3? Oh, wait...
Hmmm, a lot of grey in an urban environmment? You couldn't make it up. Stuff that's made out of concrete, buildings and such, which tend to be...oh, I don't know...how do I put this...grey! Yeah. That's it! Grey! Those blue and red concrete blocks went out of style in the early stone-age, I hear. Grey is the new white. What's that? What kind of camoflage would blend in with such an urban environment? Red? Fucking red? Are you nuts? What about green? Oh, green is already ta...
3 disagrees with what is a solid fact. There's some outright clueless gimps floating about this place.
^^^ superior to what? I don't even own a PC that can run this...yet.
What are you talking about "from the PS3"? The PS3 port (stress the word port) of the game won't look anywhere near to this footage. This is all PC and the PC is the lead platform. Do you seriously think 5 year old tech is going to compete with modern PC hardware?
Looks almost real, and more impressively, it sounds real. The sound is equally impressive to the visuals, if not more so, and that is a rare thing in games to notice that. DICE have no peer when it comes to sound design.
The lighting is also second to none, and they've nailed the smooth transitions in the animations. It looks like the troops have footplanting as they shift their body weight to the side to change directions. No more gliding animation which breaks the illus...
Amazing game. Soul Reaver should be remade. Imagine it with the scope and visuals of the new Elder Scrolls using the same engine.
This is absolute pale in comparison to the original Flashpoint. Sorry, but this bloke commentating in the video should have found a quieter room to try and talk this game up, which to be honest is looking rather bollocks, for lack of a better word. It just looks so ridiculously arcadish. Where's the recoil? Where's the bite in the weapon? The noise sounds like he's firing a spud gun FFS. He's dropping targets like it's Call of Duty from 1000 yards away. Ridiculous. Why the...
Go review.
Can you tell me if they have improved the game face feature in that was in FNR4. For some reason you couldn't get certain faces looking like you wanted them to, while some pictures were fine to use.
EA are doing a great job this gen. Now, if only they'd get rid of that tampon eating fool Tiger Woods and produce a good golf sim from sratch.
For a handheld system, these visuals are more than anyone can ask for and are all that's needed. Fantastic, especially since only roughly 6 years ago, you had to play something that looked like this on a home console and TV. Fully fledged games like this were more than good enough for console systems last generation nevermind on a hand held system. People are spoilt these days.
Well shit or piss tends to do that eventually.
To the naysayer that disagreed:
I could!
Yes, the iPhone 5 - available for the super low price of just 600 quid. What the fuck happened to a phone being a fucking phone? You know, to make calls with? Because that's all I want my phone doing. If I want a gaming system, I'll save myself a few hundred and buy a 3DS. If I want a phone, I'll buy something affordable that functions to make calls with, and not something that requires a fucking mortgage to purchace.
I could do that.
Ermm...yes they do.
