You got bubbles (whatver that is, but you get em anyway) for talking sense. Very rare to come across that on this site, especially reading comments regarding a Sony console.
What drugs are you taking? Don't need another console for another 5 years? Come back to me and say that when you see Crysis 2, Rage, Battlefield 3, and Doom 4 running maxed out on a PC. It's now 6 years into this generation's cycle, and by the definition of Moores Law, PC tech is at the very minimum a whole two generations ahead of the current consoles. Now I don't know about you, but I certainly would hate to be stuck on a console in 2 years' time when games on the PC sta...
BREAKING NEWS;
Sony delays making new console; waits on Nintendo to invent a new game controller and other innovations to replace the Duel Shock. Will claim new tech is from the distant future after the Cell chip invents time travel, achieves world peace, and cures male heriditary baldness. Reprorts state that the console will last 500 years this time instead of just 10. The device will also come with a new port that will apparantly be capable of sucking fanboys off, and maki...
Who the fuck approves this shit? As far as I'm concerned, there is only one FPS coming within the year that will deserve a score like that, and COD it ain't.
What exactly is contained in this patch? Does it fix/improve any of the gameplay?
So this game eats Black Ops for breakfast, eh? Well, that's not exactly anything to boast about seeing how that game was...well...it was just shite, wasn't it? How about comparing it to some real competition? Say BC2? Na, don't be daft. There's no competition there at all.
Duke was my first ever MP experience on PC via a LAN back in 1996. I hope the red light district LA Meltdown map is remade. Had some right laughs on that.
I don't personally like the direction Nintendo has taken in recent years, but I can respect it. They are a very intelligently run company. Arguably the best run in the business. They recognised the jugernaught of Sony early, and once MS got involved, they understood that they had to go in a different direction. Just look at what happened to Sega. As it turns out, it was a very smart thing to do considering how successful the Wii and DS is. If anyone is to blame for the degradation of qual...
The SNES broke it's own mould more than once during it's life cycle. Near the end is when it was at its most impressive and it turned into a beast that not even some of the so called next gen systems could handle. The 32X and Jaguar systems being the two main suspects there. The SNES ate them both due to games like Doom, which was supposed to be completely imposible up until that point on a 16-bit console.
I wish this generation of gamers could be like the one back in...
Star Fox didn't use Mode 7 apart from it's map screen. It used actual polygons that the system wasn't thought to be capable of via the FX chip.
You don't half talk some bollocks, mate.
Put the bag of glue down on the floor and step away from the keyboard.
From what I've seen of the DX9 on medium settings of this game on PC, it absolutely stomps ANYTHING I've seen on a console into the ground. I can only imagine what DX 11 maxed out will look like.
DICE a brainless FPS maker? If you had a clue, you'd know that DICE aren't just a FPS developer, and they don't just produce any old FPS. They produce genre defining FPS's. I think it's YOU that is brainless.
Why are you even getting diagrees on your comment? What you wrote is true. There's some right tools knocking about this site.
@mamotte
Erm, yeah, but Goldeneye and PD were espionage type premises, whereas the premise to Battlefield is exactly what it says on the tin. It's a battlefield, and in battlefields, you tend to get a lot of running about, shooting and blowing shit up. You can't go one man stealth and blow up an army with tanks and choppers.
The way I see BF3 working for a console is this: BC2 did have some very large maps, some that could easily have been in BF2 or 1942 on PC and no one would have batted an eyelid at. Heavy Metal, Arica, and Atacma desert being the three main examples. Jets could easily work on those maps. All DICE would have to do is open up the sky for the jets to roam in.
Visually, this is where the console is going to take the biggest hit. Regardless, it should still look amazing. All they...
If you're reading and talking shit, then I agree.
I stopped at the first paragraph as you haven't a clue what you're even talking about. Load of bollocks, fella.
Gotta laugh at these nutjobs who are even daring to comapare this game to KZ3 visually. Yes, a modern, DX11 state of the art GPU PC powering an engine on medium settings (nevermind maxed out) that would cripple a PS3 and a 360 combined is going to be on par with tech from 6 years ago. There's some fucking right morons out there. BTW, I dare say that the FB 2.0 engine on the consoles would have most engines in any other console shooter for breakfast, so that's that argument blown out ...
Game of the year? I don't doubt it.
This year will be a direct repeat of last year as far as I'm concerned. Bad Company 2 and Mass Effect 2 were two of the biggest surprises I've had in gaming for a long while, and both surpassed all my expectations. Both are my two games of the year. The thing with their sequels this time round, is that there is now an expectation and hype. I expect great things, and I'm sure both will deliver.
