I'm planning to buy a PS3 by the end of the year. I most rather see Sony investing money on improving their online service for games. I would hate to see Sony prioritizing the online movie service over the games. I can care less who (Microsoft or Sony) has the best movie market place. It is a cool feature to have but online service as game is concern is a must.

Ohh trust me it will be BC. The only reason why the 360 it's not 100% BC with the original XBox it was because microsoft got screwed by the hardware manufacturers that had too much control and therefore microsoft was forced to emulate intead of adding the hardware like Sony did (i.e. Pentium). This time microsoft has full control of the XBox 360 hardware which guarantees BC for the next console.

I can only think of two reason why developers are chosing to delay the lauch of 360 titles before the PS3 considering the fact that the 360 has a bigger install base and would make them money:
1) To help the PS3 sell more consoles.
2) To prevent the "Which one is better?" question that would cause one or the other to suffer in terms of sales (i.e. PS3 may not have multiplayer support, or the PS3 version may look better).
