"Gamers getting games"
Good, then you should have no issue with ANY console getting games. Yet, you'll crap on Naughty Dog, Spider-Man, and "movie games", while jumping around like a drunk school girl over Blade, Hellblade II, and OD.
You're as transparent as it gets.
@Obscure_Observer
Ha, nerve struck? If you respond to a post about shills..... you must be one of the shills. :)
Just stop living in misery and buy a PS5. It'll be better for you in the long run.
With all these disagrees, clearly N4G users can't take/don't get jokes either!
Well played, Shane!
Lame jokes don't make people mad.
Clearly., this one was good. :)
It's Forbes. Don't burst blood vessels. They do this when Xbox has some decent show and think it'll make any real world difference.
Of course, it NEVER does, but it's entertaining to watch the shills do the moonwalk. Come Jan (and everyone is talking about the holiday season's sales, Last of Us Part II remaster, and the looming VII: Rebirth release), this will disappear into a simple cloud of irrelevance.
If they want decent sales out of this, at least on consoles, ignoring PlayStation would be a bad idea. But then, if it IS somehow contracted, then that's that.
@Ironmike
He said they need to "up their game". Tell me, how else should they do that when the game has outsold all of their others in the same timeframe? It is also Insomniac's highest rated game and, according to the critics, did better than most games this year. It's OBVIOUSLY doing something right!
So, we should take this awards show serious but ignore the critics? Do you realize how stupid that sounds?
And yet, as great as Wake is, it won’t get even close to Spider-Man 2’s numbers.
It’s like some of y’all have no issue displaying ignorance. Go read a sales report and then explain how you came to this conclusion.
Yeah, up your game Sony! That 90 Meta score and RECORD-BREAKING sales report shows you need improvement!!!
The team to take notes this year is Bethesda, but I know you’d never admit that.
@Zeref
Name the recent PlayStation releases that were announced 5-6 years prior.
My thoughts exactly.
Read above and answer. What's (at least) 3-4x the PS5/Series X? Include all that matter – CPU (core count and speed), graphics card (core count and speed), system RAM, I/O, storage size/speed. Then we can have a proper discussion.
To help you a little bit, for example, the RTX 3090 (a card weaker than the one in my system) is 3.5x more powerful than the PS5's card. That's JUST the card.

@frostypants
Tell me, do you know what more than 4x a 2070 (the graphics card equivalent of the PS5) is? The 24-core CPU in the machine alone walks all over them. In addition to 96GB of DDR5 system ram @6800MHz. If this is a fight you want to attempt, try it. A lot more goes into a PC than a console, but I'm curious since you think you know what you're talking about.
3-4x? :P
My PC is many times more powerful over those consoles than that, and yet, will be completely ignored due to the weaker machines (this includes much weaker PCs). I get it ($), but yeah.
PC development IS impacted by the weaker machines. Just because they've figured out ways to adjust doesn't mean they aren't obstacles. Anyone wanting knowledge on the subject need not look further than nearly all of Crytek's Crysis interviews from '06-'08.
Yes, Alan Wake looks phenomenal, but if developed on the better hardware (and thus, ported backwards), it would look CONSIDERABLY better than it does. Those are strictly financial decisions, and th...
Clearly, you're a shareholder. So, what are the numbers....?
They stuck nothing. Sony screwed themselves giving Xbox an opening. They would have gotten the usual smack down if the PS3 had launched at $399 and was easier to develop for.
"Most successful it becomes over time" – cool, what did it sell?
"Starfield has long legs and will just get better over time"! – awesome, again, what did it sell?
"Starfield fans won". – If they're enjoying it, they did!
"Notice how nobody is talking about Spiderman anymore but every week Starfield is in the news? It faded into irrelevance faster than I thought it would".
Because people are busy buying it. For Starfield, people are busy trying to understand what all the hype was for, but you know what I'VE noticed? No one is talking about what it sold (unlike Spider-Man, which broke records). Spider-Man also wasn't a meme-fest of very poorly constructed NPCs, wasn't to...
Oh, they were humbled?
Do tell.
