you say that WB does not need and should not support either format. then you say if you had your way; you would support HD-DVD. what? those statements contradict each other. and, if you work for WB, wouldn't they mind you speaking for the company on a forum like this. oh. now you no longer work for WB. that sure was a quick employment change.
no- no matter which HD format you use, if you can't get the movie on that format, you can still get the DVD. not the end of the world.
i hear you round peg and agree. but i don't think "blades of glory" is very good either. plus "transformers" and "shrek" aren't movies i would buy.
if brand recognition is important- two brands that are very well known are SONY and PLAYSTATION
you didn't enjoy snake eater? you didn't enjoy the battle with "the end" come on- that was great
i own a ps3 and like the blu-ray movies i have. if paramount wishes to make movies for hd-dvd only, doesn't bother me at all. i'll just buy movies that are on blu-ray and be happy with that. i think people are really over-hyping this. if paramount doesn't do well with the format, they'll come back to BR. just like other studios would leave BR if they don't sell well. it will take time to sort it out and i suggest everyone just calm down.
perfectly said-bubbles for you
i believe casual gamers would be moe inclined to buy a console that has other capabilities. they won't be playing games all the time(hence the term "casual gamer")so they might want something that offers other uses(like HD movie playback)
that stuff about sony- i'm not waiting for it nor do i want it. i'm not sure you know what you're even saying. as i said above, nobody needs to be critical of ms PR. they are hurting their own image on their own. i believe you should be more concerned with: 1. ms putting out faulty hardware and 2. will your 360 continue to run the next time you turn it on. i think all you anal retentive xboobs are far more concerned with sony than you need be.
this goes to bloodmask as well-why would people who don't play games very often shell out 280 dollars to play arcade games like pac man or uno?
sony never said any of that you boob. everything on the ps3 is what was supposed to be there. that other crap you wrote i don't know where you got it but it sounds made up. right before E3 2005, peter moore said in an interview with geoff keighlly on G4TV.com, that "360 games will appear like a lucid dream. the games never have looked so real but i guess you just ignore this.but it does seem curious, after ms got 10 million people to buy into their initial claim that hdmi wasn't necessa...
the only game that looks like it can match MGS4 is KZ2. splinter cell is just a cheap knock-off of metal gear. anyone who watches the 15 min. gameplay(demonstrated by kojima himself!) footage and can't see the greatness is an idiot.
metal gear has looked sooooo good. i don't know if i should watch more new footage. it just will torture me more knowing the game is still 8 months away!
since entering the game industry they have lost(up to this point) 18 billion dollars. this is an industry record! no company has ever lost as much and the number continues to grow every day. and still they continue on with an unreliable system with a last gen dvd9 drive. now THATS A LITTLE STRANGE!
eclipticus, you buy or ignore a cosole based on one game? not very bright.
sorry loudninja-negative feedback for you. Resistance didn't get lots of average reviews; it got very good reviews.
microsoft currently having 4 different x360s' out now because they don't know what combination of features to use. but they can still get more desperate-they haven't decided to go with BR yet.
i'm not disagreeing. i just can't believe that game screen. it looks pitiful. EA can't expect to buy this as a "next gen" game?
if i want to play a game, no other game would "overshadow" it. COD4,HS, ratchet, uncharted are all games i'm stoked for. and bioshock and your other unnamed mystery game has no bearing on what i buy.
i'm not sure how this hurts blu-ray and ps3 more? am i missing something. and i don't see how studios deciding which format they will release vids for is illegal. people who run a company have a right to make decesions on how they want to conduct their business. what about this anti competitive business practices. can you point me to where you've seen a report on this. i'm interested in it. thanks
